Job summary

Southland Health & Rehab is seeking a full-time HR/payroll professional to handle hiring, records, and payroll processing in a nonprofit, mission-driven environment. The role ensures accurate I-9 processing, background checks, licenses, and compliance while supporting center leadership with HR guidelines.

You will manage personnel files, benefit programs, and timekeeping, with benefits including health, dental, vision, Life and Disability, 401(k) with match, PTO, holidays, and referral bonuses.

Qualifications

• Proficient in using a computer, especially Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point.
• Excellent organizational and prioritizing skills required
• Effective and professional verbal, and written communication skills
• Communicates well with other associates, patients, family members, and visitors providing warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude.

Responsibilities

• Processes new hires, status changes and terminations within defined timeframes.
• Verifies medical licenses and certifications as needed.
• Processes associate absence and leave paperwork.
• Processes payroll in a timely manner so that each associate is compensated for services rendered as well as other approved non-productive hours such as PTO, bereavement leave, holiday, etc.
