Job summary

Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City is seeking an Assistant Director of Human Resources to support the HR Director in planning and overseeing HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in HR or related field with at least four years in HR, and preferred Master’s in HR with SHRM certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field and/or related experience or certifications.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates Payroll, Benefits and Recruitment functions of the HR department.
• Assists Director with employee relations and performance management.
• Coordinates information for new employees including insurance, retirement, and orientation; assists employees with benefit questions.
• Acts as campus Insurance Coordinator; schedules annual option-period meetings; stays current on system benefits changes.
• Coordinates training records and mandatory training status; adds to transcripts in TMS.
• Reviews unemployment claims and coordinates with supervisors and HR Director when appealed.
• Receives workers' comp claims and reports; monitors treatment progress.
• Sends and collects FMLA letters; tracks FMLA leave.
• In absence of HR director, serves as lead.
• Completes mandatory training and engages in professional development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
