Job summary

ARServices is seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to lead day-to-day HR operations across our government contracting organization in Alexandria, VA. The role is the operational backbone of People Operations, handling onboarding, employee relations, benefits, compliance, and engagement initiatives.

You will advise employees and managers, manage core HR processes, and escalate strategic matters to the Sr.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business administration, or a related field.
• 4+ years of progressive HR experience.
• Experience supporting employee relations, onboarding, benefits, leave management, and HR operations.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Discretion handling confidential information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms.
• Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary HR contact for routine inquiries.
• Oversee onboarding, orientation, integration, and separation activities.
• Partner with Talent Acquisition on pre-employment activities.
• Prepare employment documents, promotions, transfers, and separations.
• Maintain employee records and HRIS data.
• Support benefits administration, leave programs, and compliance.
• Provide guidance on policies and employment practices.
• Assist with Open Enrollment and employee communications.
• Generate workforce reports and HR metrics.
