Job description

Join us as the Human Resources Manager for our plant in Geneva, Illinois, and serve as part of the plant leadership team as the HR strategist and coach, while managing a small team to cover the daily HR duties of a manufacturing plant. As the HR business partner for this location, you will blend both corporate and local HR needs for your 300-person plant to achieve plant goals and operational KPIs. Jump in, learn the business inside and out, and be the HR business partner for one of our most important plants in Clarios' US region.

How You Will Do It :
  1. Manage and execute HR processes, including talent engagement and development, managerial training and coaching, performance management, employee relations & case management, FMLA and return-to-work procedures, merit / salary planning, with a focus on metrics, KPIs, and planning.
  2. Lead change initiatives through excellent motivational and consultation skills for hourly (80%) and salaried (20%) plant employees.
  3. Advise and counsel plant leadership, managers, and supervisors on various topics to enhance employee engagement, team development, and organizational effectiveness.
  4. Nurture, mentor, and lead the existing HR team — an HR Generalist and HR Coordinator.
  5. Collaborate with our corporate RPO vendor to ensure recruiting success through effective planning, candidate experience, interviewing, and onboarding.
  6. Understand labor agreement administration, interpretation, enforcement, grievance procedures, and potentially serve as a co-negotiator in labor negotiations.
What We Look For :
  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field, with at least six years of experience as a human resources generalist or manager, specifically in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Labor Relations experience and/or exposure to grievances, arbitration, and negotiations, with a willingness to learn and build relationships with union representatives quickly.
  3. Flexible hours are necessary to ensure at least one HR team member is present M-F from 6:30 am to 5 pm.
  4. SPHR or PHR certification preferred; expertise and credibility in HR topics are required.
  5. Familiarity with PowerBI is a plus. Excellent Excel and analytical skills are essential.
  6. Ability to handle daily interruptions gracefully while maintaining focus on strategic projects.
What You Get :
  1. Medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with a 401(k) plan with company matching, starting on your date of hire.
  2. Tuition reimbursement, perks, and discounts.
  3. Parental and caregiver leave programs.
  4. Standard benefits such as paid time off, flexible spending accounts, short- and long-term disability, basic life insurance, business travel insurance, Employee Assistance Program, and domestic partner benefits.
  5. Opportunity to be part of a company with global market strength and leadership.
  6. HQ location with LEED certification for sustainability, plus a full-service cafeteria and workout facility.
