Job summary

Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management and building systems, seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager for our York, Pennsylvania manufacturing site. You will lead HR functions, drive talent strategy, and ensure workforce engagement supports operational excellence.

The role partners with plant leadership to align processes, improve performance, and manage labor relations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in HR generalist and/or support roles for HR Generalist, with strong knowledge of Employee/Labor relations.
• Experience in building a greenfield site, a new leadership team and/or supporting significant growth.
• Must have solid human resources generalist skills, especially in the areas of talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations and, where applicable, labor law and labor relations.
• Must be able to quickly gain trust and build relationships.
• Demonstrated success at influencing and coaching employees and business leaders is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead all HR functions for a fast-paced manufacturing environment, ensuring workforce, culture, and processes support operational excellence.
• Partner with plant leadership to drive talent strategy, employee engagement, compliance, and continuous improvement across the York facility.
• Strengthen organizational capability through organizational effectiveness, succession planning, workforce planning, and change management.
• Align HR processes such as talent reviews, performance management, compensation, and talent development.
• Drive employee engagement and promote a positive company culture across the Americas.
• Collaborate with Operations leadership on workforce planning, staffing models, shift structures, and labor cost management.
• Lead internal communication strategies that improve transparency and connection across the region.
