Job summary

Nortia Staffing is assisting a mid-sized hospitality company in Livermore, CA to recruit an HR Manager focused on compliance, employee relations, leadership development, recruiting and workforce management.

The role is onsite five days a week, reports to the CEO, and offers full benefits; salary range is $85k-$105k DOE. The ideal candidate has CA employment law expertise and 5+ years of HR experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or related field preferred.
• 5+ years progressive HR experience including compliance, employee relations, recruiting, training, and performance management.
• Strong knowledge of California employment law and HR best practices.
• Experience supporting a workforce with predominantly non-exempt employees.
• Excellent communication, coaching, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
• Experience in hospitality, events, food service, or other fast-paced service industries preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, with emphasis on California regulations.
• Advise managers on employee relations, performance management, attendance, disciplinary actions, accommodations, leave administration, and conflict resolution.
• Lead recruiting, onboarding, and staffing initiatives; partner with department leaders on workforce planning.
• Coordinate with external HR partners, legal counsel, and recruiting vendors as needed.
• Assist with HR audits, policy updates, and compliance reporting.
• Promote consistent HR practices and serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers.
