Job summary

STGi is seeking a Human Resources Manager to provide services at The William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home in Temple, TX. The role supports the effective operation of the HR function and ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities include maintaining HR policies, partnering with leadership, coordinating background checks, onboarding, payroll timing, and reporting. The position emphasizes recruiting and retention within a veteran care community.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years prior experience in human resources required.
  • Degree in human resources related field and long term care experience preferred.

  • Operate the HR Department in accordance with established policies and procedures and in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Maintain effective systems with leadership to enforce HR policies and procedures.
  • Act as community liaison to the team members and administration for HR related issues.
  • Prepare and review reports as required by Administrator.
  • Assist Leadership in mediating complaints and disputes concerning Team Members.
  • Ensure background checks and pre-employment protocols are followed per Company policies.
  • Interpret and communicate HR policies to leaders and team members.
  • Champion recruiting and onboarding to ensure friendly, welcoming experiences and policy compliance.
  • Maintain compliance with all forms of data entry and tracking as required.
  • Adhere to payroll deadlines, guidelines and processes.
  • Meet all required deadlines assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor.
  • 100% compliance with HR specific metrics on the HR Dashboard.
  • Compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate the community team member engagement activities.
  • Lead the recruitment and retention efforts for the community.

STGi is currently seeking a Human Resources Manager to provide services at The William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home.

The William R. Courtney Texas State Veterans Home is located in Temple, TX. Our staff provides compassionate and specialized care to our nation's veterans. We focus on providing the best experience for residents and their families.

JOB SUMMARY: To support the effective operation of the human resources function by effectively fostering the team member life cycle through STGi’s HR policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Essential Functions
  • Operate the Human Resources Department in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the governing body in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Maintain effective systems in conjunction with the leadership team to enforce the HR policies and procedures.
  • Act as community liaison to the team members and administration for all HR related issues.
  • Prepare and review reports as required by Administrator.
  • Assist Leadership team in mediating complaints and disputes concerning Team Members.
  • Ensure background checks and pre-employment protocols are followed in accordance with Company policies.
  • Accountable for interpreting and communicating HR policies to leaders and team members.
  • Set an example for consistently working cooperatively with leadership team and team members.
  • Champion the recruiting and onboarding process to ensure the experience is friendly and welcoming as well as ensuring it is in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all forms of data entry and tracking as required.
  • Adhere to payroll deadlines, guideline and processes.
  • Meet all required deadlines assigned

Required Skills

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Minimum of 2 years prior experience in human resources required.

Required Education

Degree in human resources related field and long term care experience preferred.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
  • This position primarily involves standing, walking, twisting, reaching, bending/stooping, pushing and pulling (typical weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 10 lbs., approximately), and lifting (minimum weight of 5 lbs. and maximum weight of 10 lbs., approximately).
  • The position requires repetitive finger movements as well as hearing and talking on the phone and in person.
  • Must be able to continuously deal effectively with stress created by residents, multiple tasks, noises, interruptions, and work cooperatively as part of the health care team while maintaining a pleasant attitude.
