Job summary

BlueScope Coated Products is seeking a seasoned Human Resources leader to develop and execute staffing plans that improve selection, diversity, and retention. The role will coach managers on employment law, administer benefits, and oversee salary/incentive programs.

You will drive performance management, policy development, and training initiatives, while ensuring compliance with laws and fostering organizational capability across manufacturing and professional roles.

Qualifications

  • 7 years of Human Resources Management experience.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and compliance.
  • Experience leading recruiting and staffing for professional and production positions.
  • Experience administering health and welfare plans and counseling employees on benefits.
  • Experience with performance management and career development.
  • Experience planning, facilitating training.

Key Focus Areas
  • Develop and implement recruiting and staffing plans to ensure improved selection, diversity, and retention outcomes
  • Facilitate and provide support for performance management and change management
  • Develop, recommend, and deploy Human Resources policies and procedures
  • Counsel and coach supervisors and managers regarding company policies, procedures, and all aspects of employment law
  • Perform benefit administration and counselling
  • Administer salary and incentive plans
  • Build organization capability by providing training and support for employees and managers, including career and professional development
  • Develop and administer effective plans, which drive alignment with Our Bond, and target employee engagement, communication, and recognition
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Other duties as assigned
Foundational Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 7 years of Human Resources Management experience
  • Knowledge of application of employment laws
  • Experience in leading recruiting and staffing efforts for professional and production positions
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of compensation practices and experience in salary and incentive plan administration
  • Background administering employee health and welfare plans, and the ability to counsel employees relative to benefit issues
  • Practiced in the application of performance management and career/professional development strategies and processes
  • Experience planning, facilitating, and conducting training
Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration with concentration in Human Resources, Psychology, or related field
  • Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience facilitating investigations, grievances, arbitration, and collective bargaining agreement negotiations
