Job summary

DISHER is seeking an experienced HR Manager in Grand Rapids, Michigan to build scalable people processes and support organizational growth. You will lead all HR functions for a rapidly growing startup within a motorcycle manufacturing context, aligning practices with the company’s mission and values.

The role focuses on developing employer branding, implementing recruitment strategies, managing hiring, and advising leadership on workplace issues while scaling HR operations for a growing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • HR certification preferred (e.g., SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR).
  • 8-10+ years of progressive human resources experience.
  • Experience in start-up or high-growth manufacturing environment desirable.
  • Experience recruiting, employee relations, and employment law compliance.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing workforce with exempt and non-exempt roles.
  • Experience scaling HR processes within a growing organization.
  • Experience supporting EOS or similar operating systems preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently and build HR processes from the ground up.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and promote the company’s employer brand to attract top talent.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Manage the full hiring process, including job postings, interviewing, reference checks, and onboarding.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees on workplace issues.
  • Coach managers and supervisors on employee relations, performance management, communication, and leadership best practices.
  • Create, implement, and maintain employee policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Partner with leadership to develop compensation philosophies, job architecture, and career progression frameworks.
  • Support payroll processes in coordination with the Finance Department.
  • Design and administer performance evaluation processes.
  • Identify training and development needs, develop effective programs to enhance employee value to the company, and maintain accurate training records.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources
