MaineHealth invites exceptional early-career professionals to join the HR Leadership Development Program. This full-time, three-year experience blends rotations, formal learning, mentorship, and project work to build leadership, business acumen, and enterprise perspective across MaineHealth’s HR functions.

Participants spend ~80% in rotations and ~20% in learning activities, aiming to prepare for higher-responsibility HR roles within a large integrated health system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred in HR or MBA with HR concentration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; strong organizational, verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to present to groups and work with diverse internal/external personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Develop leadership capabilities through challenging assignments, coaching, feedback, and reflection.
  • Complete three HR rotations while contributing to meaningful projects and business-critical work with visible organizational impact.
  • Build influence and business partnership skills by collaborating with HR teams and leaders across MaineHealth.

Program Overview

The HR Leadership Development Program is a full-time, three-year development experience designed to accelerate the growth of exceptional early-career professionals into future HR leaders. Through a combination of rotational assignments, formal learning, mentorship, leadership development, and project-based work, participants build the leadership capabilities, business acumen, and enterprise perspective needed to succeed in increasingly complex and influential roles.Participants spend approximately 80% of their time in departmental rotations and 20% in formal learning and development activities, including classroom learning, job shadowing, coaching, and leadership training.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  1. Education: Bachelors required. Post-graduate Human Resources related program with a strong preference for a Masters in HR or an MBA with HR concentration preferred. GPA should be 3.5 or higher.
  2. License/Certifications: N/A
  3. Experience: Previous experiences in Human Resources work preferred
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to demonstrate strong organizational, verbal and written skills. A high level of interpersonal skills necessary in order to deal with a wide variety of internal and external personnel in complex situations, from senior level to staff positions, and make presentations before groups.

  • Previous Human Resources experience through internships, employment, research, or other applied experiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience through academic, professional, extracurricular, or community involvement.

The pay range for this position is $61,256.00to $82,867.20per year.

Compensation for part-time positions isdeterminedon a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full-time equivalent (FTE).
