Job summary

Truce Law, PLLC is seeking an experienced HR professional to own, systematize, and scale HR for a fast-growing Seattle-based law firm. The role combines payroll, recruiting, compliance, and policy management within a hybrid/remote work arrangement.

You will partner with the Controller and Vensure for multi-state compliance, manage Trainual and the Employee Handbook, and drive AI-enabled HR initiatives while supporting a 38-person team that is expanding to 70+.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of HR generalist experience; ownership of payroll, recruiting, and compliance.
• End-to-end payroll experience through a PEO or payroll platform (Vensure preferred).
• Multi-state compliance across WA, CA, WI, GA, HI, OR with internal/partner support.
• Strong process and documentation discipline.
• AI tools usage in HR work; appetite for AI integration.

Responsibilities

• Own payroll end-to-end through Vensure; processing, reconciliation, inquiries.
• Manage full recruiting lifecycle using Wizehire, JD templates, and structured interviews.
• Partner with Vensure for multi-state compliance across WA, CA, WI, GA, HI, OR and with Atlas Assistants/GSU.
• Own Trainual management — policy library and Employee Handbook — and design role-based access with Operations Manager.
• Manage offer letters, bonuses documentation, and quarterly acknowledgments as the team grows.
• Own employee relations, performance documentation, and licensing compliance to keep the firm legally sound.
