Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a Human Resources Intern in Charlotte, NC for a 10-12 week summer program. The internship provides rotations across HR functions to gain practical experience in employee development, rewards, talent acquisition, operations, and employee relations within a large energy company.

Responsibilities include supporting HR projects, analytics, and stakeholder collaboration while developing PowerPoint and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in HR, IO psychology, or a related field.
• GPA of 2.75 or higher.
• Knowledge of current HR practices.
• Experience with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• HR Consulting Services – learn how HR consultants support employees and managers in development, performance, and relations.
• Compensation and Benefits – overview of total rewards, compensation design, and benefits.
• Talent Acquisition – interface with business units, sourcing and evaluating candidates, and managing candidate experience.
• HR Operations – exposure to HR tech, analytics, and payroll processes.
• Employee Relations – support investigations, policies, and case management.
• Diversity and Inclusion – work with business units to execute D&I strategies and reporting.
• Employee Engagement – help measure engagement and drive improvement initiatives.
