Job summary

Sunland Asphalt, LLC is seeking a dynamic HR Generalist to lead high-volume recruiting, manage payroll and benefits questions, and support HR systems and policies. This office-based role includes periodic field visits and collaboration with leaders across multiple sites.

Ideal candidates will have 3–5 years in HR, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Bilingual applicants are preferred; MS Office and HRIS proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
• 3–5 years in Human Resources; 2 years in Recruiting.
• Experience in complex, multi-site, or regulated environments preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence and build relationships.
• Experience handling high-risk employee relations and investigations; discretion essential.
• Spanish fluency strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Acts as central contact for HR inquiries via HRmail, fax, and general channels; resolves or routes issues.
• Processes unemployment claims and employment verifications; responds with accurate information.
• Supports external agency audits and requests with clear documentation.
• Creates and manages job postings on recruiting platforms; leverages sponsored campaigns.
• Screens applicants, conducts phone interviews, prepares evaluations, and recommends candidates.
• Supports candidates through hiring process and prepares compliant offer letters.
• Assists HRBP and leaders with action plans to strengthen culture, morale, and retention.
• Supports standardized HR policies and processes, including handbook updates and engagement surveys.
