Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking an HR Generalist to partner with business teams, implement and administer HR programs across talent management, employee relations, performance management, and development. The role serves as frontline support for day-to-day inquiries and coaching on routine matters, with a focus on customer-centric service and driving change.

Responsibilities include onboarding, policy interpretation, policy guidance, data analysis, and collaboration with HRBP leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of HR experience in an HR business partner environment preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Outlook).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience in conflict resolution, HR projects, and benefits management preferred; strong relationship-building skills.

  • Partner with HRBPs and business teams to support policies and programs.
  • Counsel managers and team members on policy interpretation and compliance.
  • Lead onboarding for new hires in supported groups with Talent Acquisition.
  • Support performance plans, documentation, and collaboration with compliance/legal.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and track responses to claims.
  • Own HR administrative activities including reporting, data analysis, and employee transactions.

Additionally, it will collaborate with other HR functions like People Operations and the HR Centers of Expertise. This position will serve as the first line of support for day-to-day inquiries from team members and assist in coaching and guiding on routine matters. The HR Generalist should be a highly customer-centric individual with a bias towards change and the ability to assist in propelling team success.

The HR Generalist should be a highly customer-centric individual with a bias towards change and the ability to assist in propelling team success.

  • Participate as a member of the Human Resources team and execute against organizational business plans.
  • Under limited direction from HRBPs, perform broad professional human resources responsibilities to support policies and programs, including onboarding & orientation, compensation, performance appraisal processes, benefits management (including annual enrollment), affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, complaint investigation, and HRIS.
  • Provide counsel in the interpretation and application of company policies through effective guidance for managers and team members, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.
  • Support the implementation of HR initiatives involving organizational culture, change management, and Talent Development leadership development, and career development. This will require classroom presentations and training.
  • In partnership with Talent Acquisition, assist in leading onboarding for new hires for supported groups.
  • Work with leaders to effectively create performance plans, ensure effective documentation, and collaborate with compliance and/or legal departments.
  • Conduct necessary workplace investigations and ensure effective tracking and responses to claims.
  • Own administrative activities, including but not limited to HR reporting, data analysis, exit processes, and employee transactions.
  • Support HRBP leadership in development of data gathering, presentation creation, and communications as needed.
  • Support retention and engagement initiatives across the supported business
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of previous HR experience working in an HR business partner environment preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and Outlook).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Special Skills: Experience in, conflict resolution, and progressive HR project work preferred; administration, performance management, and benefits management preferred; proven track record of building strong relationships vertically and horizontally within an organization; possesses high standards of ethical behavior, confidentiality, professionalism, and objectivity; skillful in listening and ascertaining the needs and concerns of people, and in communicating information concerning processes, policies, and procedures with accuracy and clarity; strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to analyze data; ability to handle competing priorities and adapt comfortably to interrupted workflow.
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm; Subject to change based on business needs
