As the individual grows in the position, responsibilities expand into employee relations, workplace investigations, leave administration, compliance, disciplinary documentation, separations, and other general HR functions. • Coordinate pre-employment requirements and ensure completion of all new-hire documentation.

  • Facilitate new-hire orientation and onboarding activities to support a smooth transition into the organization.

  • Explain benefits, policies, forms, and employment requirements clearly in both English and Spanish.

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and provide regular recruiting updates.

  • Maintain accurate candidate, hiring, and onboarding records in applicable systems and files.

  • Respond to routine employee questions and provide general HR support as needed.

  • Assist with employee relations and disciplinary matters as assigned by HR leadership.

  • Prepare separation notices and related documentation to support employee offboarding.

  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable employment requirements and support compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Perform additional HR duties based on department priorities and overall business needs.

Essential Skills
  • Two years of experience in human resources, recruiting, onboarding, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

  • Degree in human resources, business management, or a related field, or comparable professional experience.

  • Fluent spoken and written English with strong grammar and communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Windows.

  • Experience using an HRIS, payroll system, applicant tracking system, or similar business platform.

  • Valid Oregon drivers license in good standing with an acceptable driving record.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, or new-hire orientation in a professional setting.

  • Experience explaining benefits or workplace policies to employees in a clear and accessible manner.

  • Experience supporting an hourly, manufacturing, food production, warehouse, or similarly fast-paced workforce.

  • Knowledge of employee relations, workplace investigations, disciplinary processes, or separations.

  • Familiarity with ADA, FMLA, OFLA, Paid Leave Oregon, or workers compensation processes.

  • Ability to communicate HR information clearly and confidently in both English and Spanish.

  • Interest in growing from a recruiting-focused role into a broad HR Generalist position.

  • Motivation to learn from HR leadership and take ownership of recruiting, onboarding, and benefits communication.

Work Environment

The role is primarily based in an indoor office environment located within an active manufacturing operation. The position involves approximately nine-hour workdays, with a typical schedule of 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 or 4:30 p.m., and some flexibility for an 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. schedule. Weekend work is rare, though occasional weekend support may be required for training or specific business needs. The position reports directly to the HR Manager and is part of a broader HR team that includes leave-focused support, employee relations support, and a developing HR team member, while this HR Generalist initially owns much of the recruiting, interviewing, orientation, onboarding, and benefits communication. The environment may include occasional exposure to production-related conditions such as noise, moving equipment, temperature changes, humidity, fumes, chemicals, and outdoor weather.
