Job summary

TEKsystems seeks a detail-oriented Part-Time Human Resources Generalist to support HR operations, policies, and employee lifecycle activities in Waterbury, CT. This onsite role focuses on policy administration, record-keeping, and employee relations within 20 hours weekly.

The ideal candidate will have a solid HR foundation, knowledge of employment laws, and strong organizational skills to handle documentation, onboarding, and leave management while maintaining confidentiality and service

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years HR Generalist, Employee Relations, HR Operations, or HR Administration experience.
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Experience administering policies, employee relations matters, leave management, and HR documentation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret, communicate, and administer company policies and procedures.
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding HR programs, policies, benefits, and employment practices.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation in compliance with company standards and legal requirements.
  • Support employee relations matters, including policy guidance, performance management documentation, corrective actions, and investigations.
  • Assist with onboarding, offboarding, employee status changes, and personnel file maintenance.
  • Administer leave of absence requests, accommodations, unemployment claims, and related documentation.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and update employee handbooks, policies, forms, and HR resources.
  • Prepare HR reports, compliance documentation, and workforce analytics as needed.
  • Support performance review processes and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure consistent application of HR policies and best practices.
  • Recommend process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and employee experience.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and organizational information.

Job description

Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Part-Time Human Resources Generalist to support critical HR operations and employee lifecycle activities. This position will play a key role in administering company policies, maintaining compliance with employment regulations, managing employee records, supporting employee relations activities, and assisting with various HR programs and initiatives.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys the operational side of Human Resources and thrives in a collaborative, service-oriented environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of HR policies, employment law, employee relations, and HR administrative processes.

Schedule:

Onsite approximately 20 hours per week with an open ended schedule 8:30-4:30pm Monday - Friday.

Key Responsibilities

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waterbury, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
