About this Role

Position Summary:

The HR Generalist is responsible for performing a broad range of human resources functions, including employee relations, compliance, and performance management. This role ensures alignment with company policies and adherence to Texas and federal employment laws while fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.

What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities:

1. Employee Relations
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and workplace issues
  • Support conflict resolution and conduct investigations when necessary
  • Promote a positive work environment and employee engagement initiatives
2. Compliance & Policy Administration
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state (Texas), and local employment laws
  • Davis‑Bacon compliance, prevailing wage compliance
  • Maintain and update HR policies, employee handbook, and procedures
  • Assist with audits and reporting requirements
3. Benefits & Compensation
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment and inquiries
4. Performance Management
  • Coordinate performance review processes
  • Provide guidance to managers on employee development and disciplinary actions
  • Track and support training and development initiatives
4. HR Administration
  • Maintain employee records and uploads
  • Prepare HR reports and metrics (turnover, retention, etc.)
  • Assist with special HR projects as needed
Recruitment & Onboarding
  • Provide back‑up support for recruiting and onboarding as needed.
Work Environment
  • Office work environment
  • May require occasional travel within Texas
  • Standard business hours (7:00 am – 3:30 pm) with occasional extended hours as needed
What You'll Bring

Qualifications:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • 2–5 years of HR experience in a generalist or similar role

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of Texas labor laws and federal employment regulations (e.g., FLSA, FMLA, EEOC, Davis‑Bacon)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Certifications

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
