We are looking for a Human Resources (HR) Generalist that is committed to supporting staff members with an exceptional work experience. Our ideal candidate will be skilled in managing benefits, payroll and employee relations in a manner that retains staff members long-term and builds our employer brand.
Responsibilities
- Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Keeps employee records up to date by processing employee status changes, terminations, wage increases, and new hires in a timely fashion within the HRIS.
- Serve as the company benefits administrator. This position will be the primary point of contact for company benefits enrollment, eligibility and employee inquiries regarding benefits.
- Prepares new-hire paperwork and facilitates a thorough orientation/onboarding process; enter employee information and changes in HRIS.
- Payroll (process wage increases, coordinate with managers to ensure timecards are approved/submitted, responsible for weekly payroll processing and reporting).
- Coordinates with HR Director to support leave requests, work comp claims, and other special benefit entitlements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general equivalency is required; some college or technical school course work and minimum of three years of job-related experience, preferably in a human resource department; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Prior experience in human resources and payroll is strongly is preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of computer software (Microsoft Office Suite).
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive information and documentation while maintaining privacy/confidentiality.
- Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.
- Good to excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills.
- Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
Physical Demands
- Nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office equipment.
- Requires ability to communicate and exchange information, collects, compiles, compares, and prepares work documents, set-up and maintain work files.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.; retrieving and placing materials on high shelves and on floor-level shelves; standing, walking; carrying; grasping; hearing; seeing; sitting; kneeling; climbing; balancing; stooping; crouching and reaching.
Working Conditions
- Standard office conditions. Frequent interruptions. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously as well as stressful situations.
- May require availability for overtime hours.
