KITH is hiring an HR Generalist to support a broad range of HR functions across North America from our NYC market. You will handle employee relations, onboarding, performance management, HR administration, compliance, and engagement in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will manage onboarding using Workday, support HR audits, and collaborate with store leadership while maintaining confidential employee records. Strong communication and HRIS skills are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2-5 years HR experience with familiarity with basic employment law (EEO, FLSA, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Retail and/or Food & Beverage experience preferred.
  • Experience at scaling/fast-growing or large-scale company with scalable processes.

  • Assist with employee relations, investigations, and performance management discussions.
  • Conduct regular store visits to build relationships with employees and support HR presence in NYC markets.

Location: HQ - Williamsburg, BrooklynStatus: Full-time / 100% on-sitePosition Summary: The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting a broad range of human resources functions, including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, HR administration, compliance, and employee engagement. This role serves as a trusted resource for our employees and managers while helping ensure HR policies and practices are consistently and effectively implemented. This role will focus on supporting our various populations across North America, providing a positive employee experience in a fast-paced, frontline environment.RESPONSIBILITIESKey Responsibilities:Employee Relations & HR SupportServe as a first-level HR resource for store leadership teams and retail employees, providing guidance on workplace concerns, policies, and procedures.Serve as an intake point and administrative facilitatory for store-level employee concerns, conducting initial fact-finding and partner with HR leadership on resolutions.Manage documentation related to employee performance, disciplinary actions, and workplace investigations.Be the initial point of contact for employee-related questions on time and attendance, disciplinary actions, performance plans, etc.Manage day-to-day HR operations and provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and workplace practices.Conduct regular store visits within the NYC Market to build relationships with employees and maintain a strong HR presence in retail locations.Retail Onboarding & HRIS ManagementSupport hiring managers and HR Operations team by coordinating the new hire onboarding process for all retail employees, ensuring timely entry into Workday (HRIS) and processing IT requests.Support hiring managers and HR Operations with verifying the compliance and integrity of all new hire documentation, including I-9s, Wage Acknowledgement Forms and employment eligibility to completion.Create, train, and present HR Compliance and SOP related material for Retail New Hire Onboardings, in partnership with Retail Onboarding Partners, as needed.HR Compliance & AdministrationPartner with HRBPs and HR Operations to ensure timely and accurate submission of new hire and termination details, including completed onboarding paperwork, IT offboarding, final paychecks (where applicable), etc.Support HRBP and HR Operations Team to support HR audits and reviewing reports, tracking compliance metrics and ensuring accurate employee records.Maintain employee personnel files and support the HR Operations team with processing unemployment claims, employment verifications, and leave of absence documentation.OtherPartner with the HR Operations team to provide benefits-related support, directing employees to appropriate resources as needed.Assist with drafting and updating HR communications, including employee handbooks, policy updates, and store-specific HR announcements.Assist with special HR projects and initiatives such as employee engagement initiatives, training rollouts, and compliance tracking.Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, transfers, promotions, performance management, and offboarding.Facilitate new-hire onboarding and ensure employees receive required documentation, training, and resources.Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HRIS information.Assist with employee relations matters, including workplace concerns, investigations, performance issues, and conflict resolution.Partner with managers on performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and employee development.Help ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.Prepare HR reports, metrics, and documentation as needed.Support employee engagement, recognition, retention, and organizational development initiatives.Assist with the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs.Maintain knowledge of current HR trends, employment regulations, and best practices.Handle sensitive employee information with discretion and confidentiality.Perform other HR-related duties and special projects as assigned.Education:Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.Experience:2-5 years of HR experience, including familiarity with basic employment law (EEO, FLSA, HIPAA, etc.)Experience working with Retail and/or Food & Beverage industries is preferred.Experience working at either a scaling/fast growing company or at a large scale company with experience in crafting scalable and consistent processes.Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.Skills/Abilities:Extremely organized, detail oriented, and analyticalAbility to build effective relationships with employees and managers at all levels.Strong computer skills, particularly Excel and PowerPointExperience with HRIS systems and Google suite or comparable
