Richardson is an industry-leading designer, manufacturer, and marketer of performance-driven athletic headwear and apparel. The HR Generalist role provides on-site HR support for the Texas team while partnering with HR colleagues in Oregon to align policies and practices.

You will handle recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits, leave administration, compliance, and HR reporting, with emphasis on accurate records and data-driven insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive Human Resources experience in an HR Generalist or similar role.
  • Experience supporting multiple areas of Human Resources including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, benefits, or leave administration.
  • Experience providing HR support across multiple departments or locations preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides day-to-day HR support: on-site resource for Texas employees and managers; guidance on policies, attendance, benefits, performance processes, and other employment-related matters.
  • Supports employee relations and performance management: handles workplace concerns, coaching, corrective action, and documentation; involves HR resources when complex or high-risk.
  • Coordinates recruiting and onboarding: supports full-cycle recruiting, postings, screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding follow-up.
  • Administers employee programs and changes: supports benefits enrollment, leave administration, transfers, promotions, and training.
  • Supports employee engagement and events: coordinates local events, recognition, wellness initiatives, and engagement programs.
  • Supports policy administration and compliance: communicates policies and applicable employment requirements, assists with notices, reporting, training, and recordkeeping.
  • Maintains HR records and systems: manages personnel documentation and HRIS data with confidentiality.
  • Provides HR reporting and insights: analyzes staffing, turnover, attendance, recruiting, and training data.
  • Supports training and development: coordinates sessions and keeps records; communicates development opportunities.
  • Improves HR processes: identifies opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experience.

Step Up to the Plate and Join Our Roster!

As our HR Generalist, you'll be a key member of the Richardson HR team, providing hands-on, day-to-day Human Resources support for employees and managers at our Texas location while partnering closely with HR colleagues based in Oregon. You'll support recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, benefits, leave administration, compliance, employee morale, and company events.

This role serves as an accessible, on-site HR resource for the Texas team while helping ensure HR programs, policies, and practices are carried out consistently across Richardson. The HR Generalist will independently manage day-to-day HR responsibilities, collaborate with the broader HR team, and involve additional HR support when navigating complex, sensitive, or higher-risk matters.

Key Plays And Responsibilities
  • Provides day-to-day HR support: Serves as the primary on-site HR resource for Texas employees and managers, providing guidance on company policies, workplace expectations, attendance, benefits, performance processes, and other employment-related matters.
  • Supports employee relations and performance management: Partners with employees and managers on workplace concerns, conflict resolution, attendance, performance, coaching, corrective action, and other employee relations matters. Gathers and documents relevant information, supports appropriate resolution, and involves additional HR resources when matters are complex, sensitive, or higher risk.
  • Coordinates recruiting and onboarding: Supports full-cycle recruiting for assigned positions, including job postings, applicant screening, interviews, candidate communication, offers, pre-employment requirements, new-hire paperwork, orientation, required training, and onboarding follow-up.
  • Administers employee programs and changes: Supports benefits enrollment, leave administration, transfers, promotions, status changes, return-to-work coordination, and offboarding. Provides employees with general program information and coordinates with HR colleagues, benefit providers, and other partners as needed.
  • Supports employee engagement and events: Maintains awareness of employee morale and workplace concerns, gathers feedback, and identifies recurring themes or opportunities. Coordinates local employee events, recognition activities, service awards, wellness initiatives, community involvement, and other engagement programs.
  • Supports policy administration and compliance: Communicates and applies company policies and procedures and maintains working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements. Assists with required notices, documentation, reporting, training, and recordkeeping.
  • Maintains HR records and systems: Maintains accurate employee records, personnel documentation, HRIS information, job descriptions, organizational information, and other HR files while protecting confidential employee information.
  • Provides HR reporting and insights: Prepares and reviews HR information related to staffing, turnover, attendance, recruiting, training, and other workforce activity to identify trends or concerns requiring further attention.
  • Supports training and development: Coordinates employee and manager training, maintains training records, schedules sessions, prepares materials, and communicates development opportunities.
  • Improves HR processes: Identifies opportunities to improve HR processes, communication, administration, and the employee experience and works with the HR team to implement practical improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources principles, practices, and applicable employment requirements.
  • Ability to independently manage day-to-day HR responsibilities while recognizing when additional guidance or involvement is appropriate.
  • Strong employee relations, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees and managers at all levels.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to objectively gather information, document facts, and handle sensitive or confidential matters appropriately.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships and collaborate across departments and locations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify concerns, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and effectively use HRIS, applicant tracking, talent management, and other HR systems.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Three to five years of progressive Human Resources experience in an HR Generalist or similar role.
  • Experience supporting multiple areas of Human Resources, including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, benefits, or leave administration.
  • Experience providing HR support across multiple departments or locations preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar Human Resources certification preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department within the organization’s facilities.
  • Must be able to participate in and assist with the setup and coordination of employee events and activities.
