You will partner with leadership to ensure accurate, timely payroll and a robust onboarding experience for new hires while maintaining strict confidentiality. The role emphasizes benefits administration, compliance with Indiana labor laws, and day-to-day employee relations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of progressive HR experience with hands-on payroll and benefits administration.
• Experience with payroll platforms (Rippling or Warp preferred) and Excel/Sheets.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment regulations.

Responsibilities

• Payroll: full-cycle processing for hourly and salaried staff, inquiries, tax records.
• Onboarding & offboarding: background checks, I-9, system setup, exit interviews.
• Benefits & compensation: administer plans, open enrollment, leave requests, benchmarking.
• Compliance & recordkeeping: audit-ready files, federal/state/local laws.
• Employee relations: advise staff and management; address workplace concerns.

We are seeking a hands‑on, proactive HR Generalist to manage our core People Operations, payroll processing, and employee lifecycle management at our Greenfield, IN facility. The ideal candidate will have experience running end‑to‑end payroll, administering employee benefits, and serving as the primary point of contact for onboarding and offboarding. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining compliance across state and federal employment regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Payroll Administration: Execute full-cycle, timely, and accurate payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees; resolve payroll inquiries and maintain employee tax/payroll records.
• Onboarding & Offboarding: Own the end-to-end onboarding experience for new hires (background checks, I-9 compliance, system setup, orientation) and manage offboarding processes, including exit interviews and final pay.
• Benefits & Compensation Support: Administer employee benefit plans (medical, dental, vision, 401k), lead annual open enrollment, manage employee leave requests, and assist with salary benchmarking and compensation administration.
• Compliance & Recordkeeping: Ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws (FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, worker's compensation); maintain complete, audit‑ready physical and digital employee files.
• Employee Relations & Support: Serve as a trusted advisor to staff and local facility management; handle day-to-day HR inquiries, foster positive workplace culture, and assist with resolving workplace concerns.
• People Operations Upkeep: Maintain HR systems and databases, streamline operational workflows, and partner with leadership to continuously improve our local people processes.

Qualifications

• Relevant Experience: 2 - 5 years of progressive HR experience, with demonstrated hands‑on experience independently running payroll and managing benefits administration.
• Payroll & HRIS Proficiency: Strong proficiency with payroll platforms (Rippling or Warp preferred) and intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets skills.
• Detail‑Oriented & Compliant: High attention to detail with deep knowledge of Indiana labor laws, payroll tax guidelines, and federal employment regulations.
• Communication & Confidentiality: Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with absolute discretion when handling sensitive employee and payroll data.
• Adaptability & Time Management: Ability to balance scheduled payroll/benefits cycles alongside unpredictable employee relations needs in a fast‑paced operational environment.
