Responsibilities

Position Summary

The HR Generalist, HR Business Partner Support is responsible for partnering with the HR Business Partner (HRBP) team to execute and administer key HR initiatives, talent programs, and employee lifecycle processes. This role serves as the operational backbone of the HRBP function, providing support in employee relations administration, talent management, workforce reporting, organizational changes, compliance, and project execution. The HR Generalist works closely with HRBPs, and HR Centers of Excellence to ensure consistent delivery of HR programs and an exceptional employee experience while enabling HRBPs to focus on strategic business partnership activities.

This role is designed as a developmental pathway into the HR Business Partner career track and provides hands‑on experience supporting talent management, organizational effectiveness, employee relations, workforce planning, and business‑facing HR initiatives. The position offers broad exposure to HR disciplines and prepares individuals for future progression into HRBP roles through direct partnership with business leaders and HR professionals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Partner with HR Business Partners to support assigned client groups and execute HR and talent initiatives.
  • Coordinate and administer employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, promotions, transfers, organizational changes, and employee separations.
  • Support HRBPs in the administration and documentation of employee relations matters, investigations, performance management activities, corrective actions, and policy-related inquiries.
  • Conduct intake and triage of employee and manager inquiries, ensuring appropriate follow‑up and escalation of complex matters.
  • Assist with the execution of talent management processes, including goal setting, performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, engagement initiatives, and compensation planning.
  • Prepare employee communications, HR documentation, organizational announcements, and personnel action materials.
  • Maintain and support workforce reports, dashboards, and HR metrics to support business decisions and workforce planning activities.
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence, including Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Learning & Development, and HR Operations, to ensure effective delivery of HR programs and services.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of employee data, HR records, and HRIS transactions while supporting compliance and audit requirements.
  • Develop and maintain HR process documentation, templates, and standard operating procedures, while identifying opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency.

Work Experience

  • 1 -3 years of Human Resources experience.
  • Experience supporting multiple HR disciplines
  • Experience partnering with HR Business Partners, managers, or business leaders preferred.
  • Experience generating workforce reports and HR metrics preferred.
  • Experience supporting employee lifecycle processes within a multi‑location organization preferred.
  • Experience working in a growth‑oriented organization preferred.
  • Previous Insurance, Financial Services, Banking, or Professional Services industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience supporting organizational change, acquisitions, or integration activities preferred but not required.

Licenses/Certifications

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or equivalent certification preferred but not required.

Skills/Competencies

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including employee relations, performance management, talent management, employee engagement, and HR operations.
  • Strong understanding of HR compliance requirements and employment practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data and identify trends.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong project management and process improvement capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS platforms, reporting tools, and HR technology systems.
  • Ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the organization.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field required.
