The Human Resources Generalist works in partnership with the Assistant Director of Human Resources and other HR/Payroll team members to serve as a principal employee consultant for clients at the college, carrying out a wide range of employment life cycle functions including classification, compensation, benefits, recruitment, employee relations, Title IX investigations, family medical leave and reasonable accommodation by actively engaging and working collaboratively with academic and administrative employees. Above all, a successful person in this role will be service-oriented, empathetic and eager to learn and grow as an HR professional.
Under minimal direction, this position independently performs professional level Human Resources assignments which require the application of independent judgment in the analysis of routine and complex human resource work within established standards. Daily work will include 1) effectively managing benefits functions and interrelated processes to assure accurate and appropriate benefits coverage and services for all eligible permanent, contracted and hourly employees; 2) effectively processing compensation and contracts to assure accurate and timely pay to all permanent, contracted and hourly employees; and 3) effectively managing the recruitment, screening and selection process ensuring fair and consistent application of appropriate laws, policies, and regulations while supporting college efforts toward equity and inclusion on campus.
As the Human Resources Generalist, it is expected that the following qualities will be demonstrated daily: a high degree of understanding and empathy for all students, faculty, staff, and visitors, as well as the ability to encourage the inclusion of all voices in decision-making, promoting equity in all areas, and actively working against institutionalized norms of oppression against historically marginalized people.

Semi-Sedentary Work: Involves staying in a stationary position to a significant degree. Jobs are sedentary if moving is required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
The College is currently in hybrid operations, with many assignments completed in an online environment during this time. Full-time employees are expected to be on-campus at least three (3) days per week with the option to work remote for the remainder of their working days. This position will perform work in a standard office setting, use standard office equipment and physically attend meetings both on and off campus and requires the ability to communicate in person or through appropriate means.
Positions in this class typically require operating a computer, communicating, observing, and repetitive motions.
This position involves exerting between 10-30 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to transport, put, install, remove, or otherwise move objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
