Job summary

Aftermath Services is seeking an HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations, including employee relations, compliance, safety, workers’ compensation, and recruiting onboarding support. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, service-focused HR professional who can wear multiple hats as our systems and processes are established and scaled, helping to build a solid HR foundation for the company.

Qualifications

  • 2–4+ years of HR experience with payroll and benefits focus.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing and wage/hour compliance.
  • Familiarity with FMLA, ADA, and COBRA.
  • Proficiency with Paylocity preferred.
  • Experience with benefits open enrollment and carrier coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Develop and communicate HR policies and procedures.
  • Support HR projects as infrastructure evolves.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Coordinate job postings, candidate communications, background screenings, and onboarding.

What You’ll Do
General HR Administration
  • Maintain accurate employee records and support day-to-day HR documentation and reporting
  • Assist with developing and communicating HR policies and procedures
  • Support leadership with projects and initiatives as our HR infrastructure evolves
Compliance, Safety & Workers’ Compensation
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Oversee workers’ compensation administration and maintain required safety and compliance documentation
  • Support audit activities and ensure accurate recordkeeping
Recruiting & Onboarding Support
  • Coordinate job postings, candidate communications, background screenings, and pre-employment requirements
  • Help ensure a smooth and compliant hiring and onboarding experience
Employee Relations Support
  • Serve as a frontline resource for employees and managers on company policies, procedures, and general employment matters
  • Conduct employee interviews related to employee relations matters
  • Facilitate and manage the interactive process
  • Support consistent policy application and document employee relations activities
  • Escalate complex matters as appropriate to ensure fair and compliant people practices
Basic Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
  • 2–4+ years of HR experience with demonstrated strength in payroll and benefits administration
  • Working knowledge of multi-state payroll processing and applicable wage and hour compliance
  • Familiarity with federal leave laws including FMLA, ADA, and COBRA
  • Proficiency with Paylocity experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with benefits administration, including open enrollment and carrier coordination
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of relevant HR work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience supporting workers’ compensation administration and OSHA recordkeeping
  • Experience working in a multi-state employer environment
  • Background in a field services, operations, or distribution environment a plus
