Job summary

Midwestern Career College is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to partner with the CEO and senior leaders, guiding organizational development, regulatory compliance, recruiting, and payroll oversight across IL, IN, OH and other states.

You will administer HR programs, lead policy development, and drive talent management initiatives while ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations, including FMLA and HRCI/SHRM certifications where applicable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of human resource management experience required.
  • FMLA experience required; SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or HRCI certification highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand goals and strategy.
  • Leads development and implementation of compliant HR policies across multiple states.
  • Oversees payroll processes and benefits administration.
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs and drives talent management initiatives.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Description
General Purpose

The Human Resources Director serves as a business partner to the CEO and departmental management, supporting the wider MCC Holdings Group’s organizational development, regulatory compliance, recruiting, benefits, payroll oversight and external vendor support needs across IL, IN, OH and other states where employees are present.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organizations goals and strategy.
  • Leads to development and implementation of policies and processes to ensure regulatory compliance and support of business needs across multiple states.
  • Administers or oversees the administration of human resource programs including, but not limited to, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Identifies staffing and recruiting needs; develops and executes best practices for hiring and talent management.
  • Monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Facilitates professional development activities and training for all employees.
  • Responsible for administering payroll processes.
  • Additional responsibilities assigned, as needed.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS system.
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • At least 10 years of human resource management experience required.
  • FMLA experience required.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP, or HRCI Certification highly preferred.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly requires to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
