Job summary

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced HR Credentialing Coordinator for a remote contract opportunity.   • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in HR administration, onboarding, credentialing, compliance, customer service, or a related administrative role.
  • Experience with background checks, pre-employment screening, credentialing, or employee onboarding preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Ability to review and interpret background-check and drug-screening reports.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate employee onboarding and credentialing requirements from initiation through clearance.
  • Initiate, process, and review background checks based on company, client, and facility requirements.
  • Coordinate pre-employment drug screenings, medical testing, and other required compliance activities.
  • Review background checks, drug-screening reports, medical test results, and supporting documentation to determine onboarding clearance according to established guidelines.
  • Monitor employee medical and credentialing compliance with applicable facility requirements.
  • Manage a high volume of active onboarding and credentialing files while meeting required deadlines.
  • Follow up with employees regarding missing documentation, testing, or outstanding onboarding requirements.
  • Communicate with background-check providers, medical service providers, and other third-party vendors.
  • Create and maintain accounts associated with background screening and onboarding processes.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential employee records.
  • Monitor new compliance requirements and applicable regulatory changes.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee onboarding and credentialing questions.
  • Partner with HR and other departments to resolve onboarding and compliance issues.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive employee and medical information.

Location: Remote – United States Employment Type: Contract Work Arrangement: 100% Remote Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–4:30 PM EST Pay Rate: $18.00–$19.31 per hour

Position Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced HR Credentialing Coordinator for a remote contract opportunity. This role supports high-volume employee onboarding and credentialing by coordinating background checks, drug screenings, pre-employment medical testing, and other compliance requirements. The ideal candidate has experience in HR onboarding, credentialing, background screening, or healthcare compliance and is comfortable reviewing reports and medical documentation to determine whether candidates meet established onboarding requirements. This position requires excellent organization, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage a large volume of active files and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of professional experience in HR administration, employee onboarding, credentialing, compliance, customer service, or a related administrative role.
  • Experience with background checks, pre-employment screening, credentialing, or employee onboarding strongly preferred.
  • Ability to review and interpret background-check and drug-screening reports.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, medical testing, or healthcare compliance documentation preferred.
  • Experience reviewing pre-employment medical testing or compliance documentation is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Strong administrative, typing, organizational, and follow-up skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a high volume of active files and deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced remote environment.
  • No college degree required.
  • Must be able to work 8:00 AM–4:30 PM Eastern Time, regardless of U.S. location.
Work Environment

This is a fully remote, computer-based position requiring extended periods of computer and telephone work. Candidates must have an appropriate home-office environment and be able to work effectively during Eastern Time business hours.
