City Utilities of Springfield is seeking an HR administrative support professional to provide technical and administrative support across benefits, compensation, recruitment, safety, and training.
Under the supervision of the HR Manager, you will process invoices, assist with HRIS/Workday tasks, coordinate recruitment testing, prepare reports, and maintain confidential personnel files. This role requires strong organizational skills and discretion in handling sensitive information.

Pay Details: Grade 54 Minimum: $986.48/ week Midpoint: $1,183.77 Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
Job Description: Purpose of position: Under the direction of the Manager-Human Resources (HR) or designee, provides technical and administrative support for all functional areas of HR, including benefits, compensation, recruitment, safety, and training.
Education and Experience: AA/AS in Business Administration or a related field and four years of recent responsible administrative experience is required. Exceptional experience and/or business-related college coursework may be considered in lieu of a two-year degree on a year-for-year basis. Recent Human Resources experience is preferred. Recent Workday experience is preferred.
Licensing/Certification: Must have a valid driver's license (minimum Class F).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Proficient at administrative support functions. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including knowledge of grammar and punctuation. Exceptional customer service skills including the ability to interact with people in a positive and courteous manner. Strong attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to: Learn specific computer programs (HCM systems, accounting programs, etc.). Work independently, multi-task, work under pressure, and meet multiple deadlines. Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Effectively utilize a range of digital tools and platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, enterprise software, artificial intelligence-enhanced applications, and self-service systems. Must possess a willingness and capacity to learn and adapt to emerging technologies, including mobile devices, cloud-based systems, and data-driven platforms relevant to utility operations. Maintain adherence to all company policies.
Physical Requirements: Typically, sedentary work. Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word and receive detailed information through oral communication. Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers, and close visual acuity to operate a computer. Bending and stooping may be required for filing and file retrieval. Must be able to work in stressful situations involving employees.
Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
Miscellaneous Requirements: Employee must remain alert and aware of their surroundings at all times and maintain the ability to respond to changing circumstances in a timely manner. Must be able to work successfully with diverse groups of people.
TESTING: Testing may be required.
