Mammoth Distribution is one of California's leading cannabis distributors and manufacturers, delivering top brands like Heavy Hitters, Papa & Barkley, and Almora Farms. We're hiring a full-time HR Coordinator to keep our people operations organized, connected, and running on modern tools. Reporting to our Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), you'll manage HR administration and HRIS records, put AI and automation to work on everyday HR tasks, plan the events and recognition programs that shape our culture, run internal communications, and support our HR team on employee relations matters across Production, Manufacturing, Facilities, Lab, Quality Control, and Inventory.

Located in North Hollywood, convenient to Burbank, Van Nuys, Glendale, Studio City, and the greater San Fernando Valley. If you're a tech-savvy, highly organized HR professional who loves planning events and building a great workplace, we'd like to hear from you.

What You'll Do
  • Own day-to-day HR administration: scheduling, e-filing, personnel file maintenance, and accurate HRIS data entry
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding: prepare paperwork, set up new-hire orientation, and keep checklists current in the HRIS
  • Use AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Copilot) and automation to draft communications, summarize information, build templates, and streamline repetitive HR workflows, while protecting confidential employee data
  • Administer HR technology, including the HRIS, e-signature and digital forms, shared drives, and Slack, and help evaluate and roll out new tools
  • Build and maintain HR reports and dashboards (headcount, turnover, training completion) and prepare a monthly people-metrics package for the CHRO
  • Plan and execute companywide culture initiatives, employee events, and recognition programs (e.g., Culture All-Star nominations), managing vendors, logistics, and budgets
  • Write, design, and distribute the monthly employee newsletter (email, Slack, and print); administer HR Slack channels and maintain the company intranet
  • Prepare HR announcements and support presentations at Production and tailgate meetings
  • Support employee relations: schedule meetings, take notes during interviews and investigations, maintain the ER case log, and track follow-up actions as directed by the HR team
  • Track write-ups (corrective action) and performance review deadlines, and send reminders to managers to keep them current
  • Provide backup support for Payroll, Benefits, and Recruiting, including interview scheduling and new-hire paperwork
  • Answer routine employee HR questions and route sensitive or complex matters to the appropriate HR team member
What You'll Bring
  • 2–4 years of experience in HR, people operations, or office administration; HR experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or distribution environment preferred; cannabis industry experience a plus
  • Hands-on experience with an HRIS (such as Paycom, Paylocity, ADP, UKG, or BambooHR) and an aptitude for learning new systems quickly
  • Comfort using AI tools to work more efficiently, with good judgment about accuracy, privacy, and confidentiality
  • Advanced skills in Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Office, especially Excel or Google Sheets (formulas, pivot tables, basic dashboards)
  • Experience administering Slack or similar collaboration tools; Canva or similar design tools a plus
  • Event planning experience, from small team celebrations to companywide events, including budget and vendor management
  • Strong writing and editing skills and confidence presenting to groups, including production floor audiences
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail; able to manage many deadlines and follow through without reminders
  • Basic knowledge of HR practices and employment law, and the judgment to know when to elevate
  • Discretion and professionalism with confidential and sensitive information
  • A friendly, approachable presence with frontline employees and supervisors
  • Spanish proficiency a plus
