Job summary

Flooid is seeking an HR Coordinator in Cincinnati, OH to support payroll, benefits, HRIS, and compliance. The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and service-minded interactions with employees, in an in-office/hybrid setting.

The position offers exposure to payroll, benefits administration, onboarding/offboarding, and audits, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and HR projects within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • Experience in HR, payroll, benefits, or administrative role.
  • Strong Excel skills including formulas and data linking across worksheets.
  • Familiarity with HRIS, payroll, and benefits data systems.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and validating payroll inputs, including deductions, earnings, tax elections, and employee status changes.
  • Preparing the semi-monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company procedures.
  • Supporting benefits and 401(k) plan administration, including enrollment, changes, participant communications, and employee inquiries.
  • Coordinating with payroll, benefits, retirement plan, and HRIS vendors to resolve routine issues and support accurate administration.
  • Supporting onboarding administration, including new hire tasks, employment eligibility documentation, payroll setup, and benefit enrollment coordination.
  • Supporting offboarding activities, including system updates, final pay and continuation of benefits communication, and related administrative tasks.
  • Maintaining and updating employee data in HR systems, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality.
  • Assisting with internal and external audits by preparing reports, reviewing data, and following up on routine documentation needs.
  • Supporting HR compliance efforts pursuant to federal, state, local, and company requirements.
  • Responding to employee questions related to payroll, benefits, HR systems, and policies with professionalism, care, and timely, accurate information.
  • Escalating more complex issues appropriately while taking ownership of routine problems.
  • Assisting with HR process documentation, employee communications, and standard operating procedures.
  • Assisting with general office administration and coordination as needed.
  • Providing support for HR projects or team initiatives as needed.

Overview

The HR Coordinator is a key member of the HR team, helping ensure employees are supported through accurate payroll, benefits, HR systems, and compliance administration. This role offers hands‑on exposure to several core areas of HR and is ideal for someone who enjoys learning, solving problems, supporting employees, and building strong operational skills in a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, proactive, service‑oriented, and committed to accuracy in all aspects of HR administration.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing and validating payroll inputs, including deductions, earnings, tax elections, and employee status changes.

Skills & Experience:
  • Prior experience in a human resources, payroll, benefits, customer service, or administrative role, including internship, contract, or full-time experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience creating and maintaining formula-driven spreadsheets, linking data across multiple worksheets, and reconciling complex datasets. Ability to identify and investigate discrepancies, troubleshoot formula issues, and ensure data remains accurate, consistent, and reliable across reports.
  • Comfortable working with HRIS, payroll, benefits, and other data systems, with the ability to learn new systems quickly and accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and think critically when faced with issues or discrepancies.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, service-oriented approach to supporting employees.
  • Good judgment and the ability to recognize when matters require escalation or additional guidance.
  • Understanding of the need for confidentiality and the ethical standards required for the role.
  • Genuine interest in a career in Human Resources.
  • Interest in improving processes, documenting procedures, and finding practical ways to make HR administration more efficient and accurate.

Location:

United States – In-Office/Hybrid. Primary office located in Cincinnati, Ohio, and role will require in-office work 2-3 days per week on average.
