Job summary

USA Mechanical & Energy Service is seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to support the HR Director in payroll, safety, insurance, and compliance functions. The role handles payroll processing, HR records, benefits renewals, and workplace safety initiatives from our East Granby, Connecticut office.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of HR experience, an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field, and a solid understanding of employment laws and HR best practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-3 years of HR experience.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
• Strong understanding of HR compliance, employment laws, and HR best practices.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Experience assisting with payroll processing and payroll software.
• Experience managing COIs and insurance renewals.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance portals.

Responsibilities

• Assist the HR Director with day-to-day HR operations and employee support.
• Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HR records.
• Support onboarding, offboarding, and new hire documentation along with safety requirements.
• Assist with weekly payroll run and payroll reports.
• Ensure CHRO reporting readiness and HR policy implementation.
