Job summary

PowerLines is recruiting a classifications specialist to support the Illinois Commerce Commission in Springfield. This senior role leads job descriptions, maintains HR records, and builds organizational charts as part of the ICC HR Office.

You will interpret policies, coordinate with CMS/DoIT, and assist hiring staff on classification issues. Requires a four-year college degree and two years of HR experience, with skills in state HR systems and Microsoft suite.

Qualifications

• Requires four years of college or higher education.
• Two years of professional HR experience required.
• Experience with position classification rules and job descriptions.
• Knowledge of Illinois Personnel Code, Rules, and contracts preferred.
• Experience with State IT systems: SAP SuccessFactors, HRIS, Docuware.

Responsibilities

• Lead on all ICC job descriptions for code and non-code positions.
• Prepare and maintain HR records, positions descriptions, and org charts.
• Interpret ICC policies, rules, and classification plan with accuracy.
• Assist hiring staff as classifications expert during the hiring process.
• Liaise with ICC programs, CMS, DoIT and stakeholders for classification program.
• Perform other duties within the scope of classifications duties.
• Ensure compliance with personnel codes and regulatory materials.
