Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field required or preferred.
  • HR certification preferred.
  • 5–8 years of progressive HR experience including staffing, ER, performance, and safety.

JOB SUMMARY:

Serve as a strategic HR partner to DC leadership to drive business results and engagement. Lead execution and continuous improvement of core HR programs at the DC level. Oversee employee communications, staffing, benefits, training, ER, performance, and safety. Ensure consistent, compliant, and well-documented application of HR policies and procedures. Operate independently as the sole HRBP or as part of a multi-layer HR team, depending on DC size and complexity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as a strategic workforce partner with Operations leadership, Training and Quality, and Talent Acquisition to anticipate staffing needs, hire qualified talent, and coordinate hiring initiatives. Ensure seamless onboarding through orientation facilitation, HR documentation processing, and system access coordination. Lead the hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of the HR Administrator role.
  • Lead end-to-end workforce lifecycle management for direct and temporary employees, proactively ensuring regulatory compliance and operational consistency. Establish and manage strategic partnerships with temporary staffing agencies, regularly evaluating performance to ensure evolving staffing demands are effectively met.
  • Drive a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and data integrity across all HR processes, documentation, and systems, consistently executing tasks in accordance with established procedures and company standards to ensure timely completion.
  • Provide strategic oversight of payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and consistency across timekeeping, pay reconciliation, and labor reporting processes.
  • Monitor payroll and HR system reporting to ensure regulatory compliance and data quality. Collaborate on compensation structure initiatives impacting distribution center operations. Lead execution of performance management processes.
  • Partner with Operations to provide strategic oversight of the attendance management process, ensuring consistent reporting, policy application, and data integrity. Guide corrective-action execution by providing appropriate documentation, monitoring accountability, and ensuring timely resolution. Manage the Perfect Attendance Program, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
  • Provide senior-level HR guidance to leaders on policy interpretation and employment law compliance; serve as a subject matter expert for assigned state(s); lead governance and audit oversight of HR records (including personnel files and I-9s), leverage data and reporting to proactively assess and mitigate risk, and ensure timely, compliant execution of STA applications and renewals to support business continuity.
  • Lead the employee relations process end-to-end, proactively identifying workplace issues, directing timely and objective investigations, and developing well-reasoned recommendations that reduces organizational risk and enhance leader decision‑making. Escalate and manage high-risk and regulatory matters in partnership with Corporate HR, including Title VII-related investigations, ensuring consistent compliance and sound business decisions.
  • Provide strategic oversight of employee benefits and engagement programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations. Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and leaders, ensuring compliant, accurate execution while driving engagement through recognition, communication forums, and EOS insights to strengthen culture, leadership effectiveness, and employee experience.
  • Partner with employees and the third‑party administrator to effectively manage the FMLA, ADA, STD, and general leave-of-absence processes. Ensure clear, concise communication, timely collection of documentation, and consistent support for employees throughout their leave. Collaborate with HR Leadership on complex or sensitive cases to ensure compliance and appropriate resolution.
  • Act as a highly visible and trusted HR advisor across the Distribution Center by actively participating in employee meetings, performance dialogues, and Town Halls to foster communication and engagement. Strengthening daily connection with employees through routine floor walks and consistent availability at the HR Bar to support an open, approachable HR environment.
  • Drive tactical HR support for workplace safety and risk management initiatives, ensuring compliant accident reporting, documentation, and claims administration. Partner with employees, leadership, claims management, Loss Prevention, and Safety teams to ensure disciplined case management, OSHA compliance, and effective employee care.
  • Establish and maintain governance standards for employee communication boards and compliance postings, ensuring timely display of legal notices and required information.
  • Oversee the employee ID badge program, partnering with Operations to ensure timely issuance and ongoing compliance with badge requirements.
  • Management reserves the right to add or modify duties and/or responsibilities as needed.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred. HR certification preferred.
  • 5 to 8 years of progressive HR related experience required to include staffing management, employee relations, performance management, time keeping, and/ or safety.
  • 3 years' experience in a warehouse/production environment.
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
  • Able to work several hours at night/early morning at least once per week.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills across multiple methods and employee levels.
  • Able to self-prioritize competing responsibilities and programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply good judgement in complex situations.
  • Ability to influence the mindsets and behaviors of others.
  • Elevated level of confidentiality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Physical Demands/Work Environment: This role operates in both professional office and warehouse environments and involves frequent exposure to varying temperatures (hot and cold), moderate noise levels, dust, dirt, and changing lighting conditions. Frequent standing and walking.
  • Regular sitting at workstation for 25-75% of the work shift. Up to 10% of travel is required to visit other sites, train other employees and attend meetings. Able to work a range of shifts based on operational need.
