Montrose Environmental Group is seeking an HR Business Partner for its Northeast Region. This strategic role involves partnering with teams across multiple states to manage HR functions such as talent acquisition, coaching leaders, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. As the HR Business Partner supporting and advocating for our Northeast Region environmental consulting teams, you will work with our teams across Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and Virginia. You will be responsible for partnering with our teams on full cycle HR needs and will need at least 5 years of experience providing HR partnership and delivering on strategic initiatives related to recruiting top talent, evolving a culture, and coaching and advising leaders, all to ensure we have the best talent helping Montrose deliver its mission.
This role would ideally be based in our Valley Forge, PA office with ability to travel to our other regional offices up to 20% of the time.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
The role of a HR Business Partner is both strategic and hands-on. This role is critical in executing our people initiatives, providing exceptional partnership, and driving HR functional excellence and process improvement.
This role will be responsible for a full range of activities including:
Drive successful execution of HR and talent management processes related to organizational development, talent and leadership development, evolving a culture, and coaching and advising leaders, in addition to the HR fundamentals of performance management, compensation, and employment relations in accordance with federal and state employment laws
Partner closely with employees and leaders to drive continuous improvement and influence key organizational strategy, structure, communication, morale, and people decisions to allow us to scale and grow as One Montrose
Develop personal credibility and effective working relationships with leaders to enable growth of the business, assessing the levers needed to be pulled to make this happen and create a compelling and engaging vision and strategy in coordination with Montrose’s HR strategy
Partner with our Division Talent Acquisition Partner to understand, define, and build talent profiles to recruit top talent
Work closely with leaders on employee relations and engagement to ensure business decisions and HR processes result in objective and equitable treatment of employees
Serve as the initial point of contact for employees with questions about our HR programs and processes, addressing questions directly or identifying other resources in Montrose who have the answers
Identify competency and skill gaps and develop value-added programs in the areas of training, career mobility and job performance
Show strong consultative and stakeholder management skills that result in people seeking them out, knowing they will provide measured advice with a value-added perspective
Collaborate with Montrose’s Corporate HR team to improve the programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational employee matters of the organization

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in human resources, business, or related degree
5+ years of human resources experience in a high growth environment
Broad based, hands-on HR experience with strong emphasis on talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, employment policies and procedures, training and development, succession planning and compliance with federal and state employment laws and regulations
Experience within rapid and complex changing work environments
Ability to understand business goals and to work cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement
Fantastic interpersonal communication, with the ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of employees to ensure a high-level of employee engagement across a dispersed employee group
Demonstrated success with coaching and mentoring at management level with the ability to influence and build trust
Success in creating and driving effective development, employee relations, retention and reward programs
Ability to work in an independent environment with a huge amount of drive
Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement
Willingness to travel 20% of the time (primarily day trips)
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or Masters in HR
PHR or SHRM-CP certification
Experience with integrating new acquisitions
Knowledge of Workday
