Job summary

Gallagher, a leading global benefits and HR solutions firm, is seeking an HR Business Partner to support clients through HR challenges from our Norwalk, CT area. You will drive employee relations, benefits administration, policy development, and HRIS support within a collaborative consulting team.

The role demands 10+ years in HR, strong communication, and the ability to influence at all levels of management. A client-facing, detail-oriented approach is essential for success.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience within a dedicated HR function.
• Experience with benefits, employee relations, and/or policy and procedures development.
• Knowledge of state and federal employment regulations and HR practices.
• Experience managing leave of absence cases, ideally across multiple states.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence, negotiate and interact with all levels of management.
• Highly organized, able to meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with Excel and HRIS/Payroll platforms; comfortable learning new systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee leave of absence across states and accommodations guidance.

As a result of our ongoing growth, we are seeking an HR Business Partner to join our HR Consulting Services team. This is an ideal role for an experienced HR professional who enjoys working in a client‑facing role providing a wide variety of HR support and solutions to meet our clients’ needs as part of a collaborative team.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Employee relations including advising on disciplinary actions, grievances and conflict resolution
• Performance management, including researching platforms, developing programs, and full administration
• Leave of absence administration across multiple states and guidance on accommodation
• Full benefits administration, including but not limited to general benefits administration, monthly benefit reconciliation and managing open enrollment
• Onboarding and termination administration
• HRIS support - working in various systems
• Assisting with policy development
• Ensuring clients are in compliance with state and federal laws
• Job description development and FLSA guidance
• Serving as a mentor and point of escalation to our junior team members
• Additional HR duties as needed

About You

• 10+ years of experience within a dedicated HR function
• Experience with benefits, employee relations, and/or policy and procedures development
• Knowledge of state and federal employment regulations and Human Resources practices
• Experience managing leave of absence cases, ideally across multiple states
• Solid written and verbal communication skills and an understanding of general business practices
• Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate and interact with all levels of management
• Highly organized, able to meet deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
• High level of proficiency with Excel and HRIS/Payroll platforms and comfortable learning new technology systems as needed
• Knowledge of HRIS systems preferred

Base: $48-$55 hourly

Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, including skills and experience.
