Job summary

The Metropolitan Council in Minneapolis/St. Paul is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), a senior individual contributor who serves as the primary HR contact for managers and supervisors seeking HR services.

The HRBP bridges HR processes with business objectives, serving as a consultant and advisor to assigned business units, and guiding employee performance, relations, and organizational restructuring as needed.

Qualifications

• Education combinations include high school diploma with 9+ years experience, associate with 7+ years, bachelor’s with 5+ years, or master’s with 3+ years.
• HR generalist consultation to managers and supervisors across performance, relations, conflict resolution, and organizational changes.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning agency for the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area providing essential services to our region: transportation, wastewater collection and treatment, growth and development of local communities, affordable housing programs, and regional park systems.

This position is eligible for hybrid (remote and onsite) teleworking.

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is a senior individual contributor position within HR serving as the primary contact for managers and supervisors seeking HR services. The HRBP bridges HR processes with business objectives, serving as a consultant and advisor to assigned business units.

Any of the following combinations in completed education (degree field of study in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or closely related field) AND experience (providing HR generalist consultation to managers and supervisors in ALL the following areas: employee performance management, employee relations, conflict resolution, and organizational restructuring):

• A high school diploma/GED and nine or more years of experience
• An associate degree and seven or more years of experience
• A bachelor’s degree and five or more years of experience
• A master’s degree and three or more years of experience
