Job summary

Blaze Credit Union is seeking an HR Professional to coach across the organization, focusing on benefits, policies, HRIS reporting, and DEI to foster a positive workplace. The role covers employee relations, talent acquisition, compliance, and regular HR reporting.

Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of hands-on HR experience, a relevant degree, and include HR certification if possible. This is a full-time on-site role at our Westminster Administrative office in St Paul, MN.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressively more complex HR responsibilities.
  • Minimum degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, HRCI) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides advice and counsel to managers on employment relation matters.
  • Oversees the performance management process to ensure effective coaching and feedback.
  • Works with managers on disciplinary actions, including notices and terminations.
  • Administers the performance management system.
  • Investigates employee complaints and ensures actions are implemented.
  • Assists in creation and updating of job descriptions.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Lead talent acquisition including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring.

Description

Role: Works across all levels and departments within the organization to promote a positive and productive workplace through the coaching and development of both management and employees in areas such as benefits, policies, procedures, HRIS reporting, and DEI.
Job Type: Full-time, on-site at our Westminster Administrative office in St Paul, MN
Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides advice and counsel to managers on employment relation matters
  • Oversees the performance management process to ensure employees are receiving effective coaching and feedback from their supervisors.
  • Works with managers to take disciplinary action, including verbal/written notices and terminations.
  • Administers the performance management system.
  • Investigates employee complaints, provides recommendations and ensures agreed upon actions are implemented to resolve the complaint.
  • Assists in creation and updating of job descriptions
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation
  • Lead the talent acquisition process including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants.
  • Ensure legal compliance with applicable HR-related laws and regulations such as, but not limited to FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, EEOC, FMLA, FLSA and other federal, state and local laws.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Understand and interpret various employment laws such as, but not limited to FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, EEOC, FMLA, FLSA and other federal, state and local laws.
  • Provide regular HR reporting.

  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control

Experience/Education/Certifications/Licenses

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and stand; answer calls; operate computer; interact with internal staff and public on the phone; travel to designated offices; lift up to 20 lbs.

We are committed to providing salary ranges for all open positions. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on your experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity considerations.

The salary range for this position is: $67,718-$85,000/annually. This range reflects the base salary for this position. We have other benefits associated with this position which include: low-cost medical (as low as $20 a paycheck), dental insurance, vision insurance, quarterly bonuses, generous vacation and sick time hours, paid leave options, up to 6% 401k contribution, and tuition reimbursement.
