Job summary

Zions Bancorporation is seeking an HR Business Partner to support Enterprise Retail Banking in the Greater Salt Lake City area. You will partner with leaders to deliver HR guidance, lead org development initiatives, coach on performance and employee relations, and ensure compliant, data-driven HR decisions.

The role requires a bachelor’s in HR or related field plus 2+ years of experience; PHR/SPHR/SHRM preferred. In-office, five days a week at Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field and 2+ years of experience.
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office and HRIS; able to analyze data and present insights.
• Experience with integrated AI products (Gemini preferred).
• Knowledge of FMLA, ADA, FLSA and other employment laws.

We are currently looking for Human Resources Business Partner based in the Greater Salt Lake City area to support our Enterprise Retail Banking Division. This position will report to a Human Resources Manager. As a valued team member of a larger HR team, you will handle all HR related matters for an assigned client group using strong relationship building, credibility as an HR professional, and as a dedicated advocate of individual and team growth.

The ideal candidate will have the skills and experience necessary to:

• Partner with leaders to deliver timely, high-quality HR guidance and programs aligned to business priorities.
• Lead organizational development and talent initiatives (org design, engagement, succession, leadership development, etc.) in partnership with business leaders.
• Coach leaders on performance management and employee relations (coaching, counseling, career development, communication, employee relations, etc.) to optimize employee and department performance.
• Provide guidance on FLSA, job classifications, pay practices, and compensation decisions in coordination with the Compensation Department.
• Partner with leaders to strengthen engagement, retention, and team effectiveness; identify trends and implement targeted interventions.
• Use available AI tools and resources to analyze HR metrics (turnover, engagement, performance, employee history, compensation data, staffing, surveys, etc.) and deliver insights and recommendations to leaders.
• Provide consultative HR to assigned client groups to interpret and apply HR policies and procedures consistently; advise leaders on appropriate actions and documentation.
• Resolve moderate to complex people issues with balanced solutions that support business goals, employee experience, and compliance.
• Advise leaders and employees on FMLA/ADA matters, including leave administration, accommodations, and interactive process support.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state law (specifically UT, TX, NV, ID, AZ, CO, and CA) and federal employment laws and apply that guidance to reduce risk and ensure compliance.
• Be adaptable and take on additional assignments as business needs evolve.

Qualifications :

• Working knowledge across key HR disciplines (workforce planning, compensation practices, organizational design, talent development, employee relations, risk management, performance management, and all federal and state employment law compliance including FMLA, ADA, FLSA and disability benefits.)
• Ability to translate business needs into HR priorities and communicate recommendations effectively to HR and business leadership.
• Proficiency with MS Office and HRIS; able to analyze data and present insights.
• Experience using integrated AI products (Gemini preferred)
• Financial or Technical industry experience is a plus.
• Requires a bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or a related field and 2+ years’ experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, and/or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Location:

This position is a client facing position, working five days in the office at the new Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
