Job summary

Westerman Inc is seeking a full-time HR Representative to support the startup and staffing of its Hebron, OH facility. The role partners with the HR Manager to manage onboarding, open enrollment, payroll, benefits, workers compensation, staffing, and HR policy administration.

The successful candidate will be process-driven, highly organized and capable of working with internal and external partners to meet deadlines and drive HR initiatives across the site.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources or Business is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources work experience.
  • Knowledge of HR practices, laws and regulations.
  • Proven ability to onboarding, payroll, benefits, and staffing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Staffing the Hebron facility with hourly production positions and onboarding.
  • Coordinate pre-employment processes and new hire orientation.
  • Administer benefits and assist Open Enrollment processes.
  • Process payroll and manage payroll-related programs.
  • Maintain HRIS filings and records, and generate HR reports.

Description

Westerman, an employee-owned company, is a multiple site manufacturer of production and storage equipment within the oil, gas, and nuclear industries. Our equipment helps optimize well pad design, improve separation efficiency and lower overall equipment spend through high-performance surface separation and processing technology. Our equipment is setting new standards for performance and economics nationwide.

SUMMARY

Westerman is looking for a full-time HR Representative that will work closely with the HR Manager in support of its new Hebron, OH facility. This role is responsible for start up and staffing of the new facility in addition to full life cycle recruiting, benefit administration, payroll, workers compensation, staffing, data entry, and general administration of human resources policies and practices.

The successful candidate is a process-oriented individual with a drive for providing excellent service. To be effective in this role, you must have strong organizational skills, extreme attention to detail, strict attention to deadlines, and the ability to operate and interact effectively with internal and external business partners.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group. Regular and punctual attendance is required of all employees.
  • Recruiting and staffing: Posts requisitions, sources, screens, and interviews candidates for hourly production positions, recommends candidates for hire. Is responsible for pre-employment coordination and onboarding process, facilitates new hire orientation, partners with staffing agencies for temporary workers.
  • Benefits administration: Communicates, explains and answers employee questions regarding benefit plans, employee assistance program services, FMLA and disability processes among others. Guides employees through the annual Open Enrollment period.
  • Analyze processes and practices: Completes analyses and makes recommendations to improve processes and procedures, compiles data and research for designated HR projects at both the local and corporate levels.
  • HR administration: Coordinates performance management items, personnel and HRIS filing and maintenance, employee training, records retention, and provides reports to the HR department.
  • Payroll: Reviews employee timecards for accuracy, processes payroll, manages referral and sign-on bonus programs.
  • Miscellaneous program coordination: Including, but not limited to, wellness program initiatives, company events, Leadership Training Program, service and recognition awards, invoices, uniform and boot voucher programs.
  • Other duties as required and assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources or Business required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Human Resources work experience required; onboarding experience strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of HR practices, laws and regulations required.
  • Ability to learn and understand company practices (benefits, payroll, employee relations) required.
  • Desire to grow and develop HR knowledge and skills required.
  • Strong organizational skills with extreme attention to detail required.
  • Demonstrated customer service focus required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees (production and management) required.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines independently required.
  • Ability to work individually and with a team required.
  • Ability to prioritize and work with a sense of urgency required.
  • Clean driving record as determined by insurance company.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to travel by car and airplane to other facilities as needed.
  • Driving is an essential function of this position; a clean driving record is required.
