The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, strong Workday capability, and exposure to compensation, talent management, and succession planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • 5–7 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably as an HR Business Partner or generalist for a global employer.
  • Strong working knowledge of Workday, including data changes, reporting, and HR workflow support.
  • Exposure to compensation processes, including promotions, salary adjustments, and annual planning.
  • Experience supporting talent management processes and succession planning.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, employment laws, leave administration, payroll coordination, and benefits administration.

Lummus Technology is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our HR team in Houston, TX. This role will serve as a trusted partner to leaders and employees by providing day-to-day HR support, advising on employee relations matters, supporting talent and organizational initiatives, and ensuring consistent employee experience. The ideal candidate will bring 5 to 7 years of progressive HR experience, strong Workday capability, and exposure to compensation, talent management, employee-focused programs, succession planning, and talent development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with managers and employees to provide practical HR guidance across organizational changes, performance management, employee relations, policy interpretation, and day to day HR matters.
  • Support talent management processes, including employee-focused programs, talent reviews, succession planning, talent development, and follow up on key actions with leaders.
  • Provide support for compensation-related activities, including job changes, promotions, market data coordination, offer support, and annual compensation processes in partnership with Compensation and HR leadership.
  • Use Workday to process employee and organizational changes, maintain accurate data, run reports, and support HR transactions with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Facilitate onboarding for new hires, including coordinating pre-employment activities, supporting manager preparedness, and helping create a positive new hire experience.
  • Administer employee leaves of absence by providing guidance to managers and employees and supporting compliance with FMLA and related requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date HR files, records, documentation, and employee data in accordance with company standards and confidentiality expectations.
  • Assist with college recruiting efforts, including scheduling information sessions, partnering with schools, and serving as an HR contact for candidates and campus partners.
  • Coordinate communication with candidates and schedule interviews in partnership with Talent Acquisition as needed.
  • Respond to employee and applicant questions regarding policies, benefits, hiring processes, and general HR matters, escalating more complex issues when appropriate.
  • Perform periodic audits of HR records and Workday data to ensure required documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Assist with employee immigration matters, service award administration, invoicing, and other HR programs or projects as assigned.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, reporting, and employee-facing support while helping drive consistency across the business.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably in an HR Business Partner or generalist capacity for a global employer.
  • Strong working knowledge of Workday, including employee data changes, reporting, organizational updates, and HR workflow support.
  • Exposure to compensation processes, including promotions, salary adjustments, job changes, offer support, and annual compensation planning.
  • Experience supporting talent management processes such as employee-focused programs, talent reviews, succession planning, talent development, and performance management.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, employment laws, employee relations, leave administration, payroll coordination, and benefits administration.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trust with employees and leaders while balancing business needs, employee experience, and compliance requirements.
  • Proactive ownership of projects, with the ability to follow through from concept to execution on assigned tasks and initiatives.
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills, including formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable learning or using HR technology platforms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, engineering, operations, or technical client groups.
  • Experience participating in talent calibration, succession planning discussions, or leadership development planning.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
