Candidate Profile Resilient and people-focused, with strong partnering and communication skills. The successful candidate will be someone who gets excited about the value of organisational culture and will recognise the direct impact of their work on team members across the production lines.

Role Overview

As HR Business Partner, you will provide expert and dedicated HR support to our manufacturing teams, who are central to Ei's continued success. Based in Shannon, Ireland, you will partner closely with operational leaders and supervisors to develop and implement initiatives that support operational efficiency, employee engagement, and a positive workplace culture. This is not just HR, it is about igniting the human engine behind world-class manufacturing. This role requires a visible and people-focused HR presence across our manufacturing environment. You will engage regularly with supervisors and team members, supporting effective employee conversations, promoting a strong workplace culture, and helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of operations. You will be a strong advocate for both employees and supervisors. This is a newly created role, reporting to the HR Manager, and will form part of an established HR team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Employee Engagement
    • Handle day-to-day employee queries.
    • Partner with supervisors and managers to resolve conflicts and disagreements informally, in conjunction with manufacturing leaders.
    • Implement culture initiatives suited to shift-based roles within a high-tech manufacturing environment.
    • Support team-building activities through sports and social initiatives, volunteering events, wellness programmes and feedback loops that help maintain positive morale.
  • Partnership
    • Collaborate with manufacturing managers and supervisors to align HR initiatives with business objectives, with a focus on culture, workforce planning, talent development, and succession planning for supervisors, technicians, and other operational leaders.
  • Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
    • Partner with the recruiter to support recruitment efforts for operatives and technicians.
    • Ensure a seamless onboarding process that sets new hires up for success from day one.
    • Promote internal promotional opportunities and participate in interviews and feedback.
    • Partner with the HR team and Marketing to maintain consistent employer branding.
    • Represent the company at local employment events.
  • Performance Management
    • Coach leaders on employee conversations, training needs and career progression for technical and operational staff, where required.
  • Compliance & Best Practices
    • Ensure adherence to Irish employment law, partnering with the Health & Safety and Occupational Health teams to support a healthy, positive and respectful working environment.
  • Data-Driven Insights
    • Analyse HR metrics, including retention rates, absenteeism and skills gaps, to recommend proactive solutions that enhance productivity and reduce turnover.
  • Change Management
    • Support organisational change, including technology upgrades and process improvements, by guiding team members through transitions with empathy and expertise, and delivering training on new tools and systems where required.
Qualifications & Experience

Education Degree in HR, Business or a related discipline. CIPD qualification, or equivalent, is desirable. Knowledge of Irish employment and work permit legislation.

Experience Minimum of 5+ years in a HR Business Partner role in a manufacturing, engineering, or a related field. Hands-on experience supporting roles like production operatives and technicians is a must, preferably in an electronics or high-volume manufacturing environment.

Skills

Exceptional communication and influencing abilities to connect with everyone from shop-floor teams to supervisors and managers. Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset and the agility to thrive in a dynamic setting using informal processes to resolve concerns. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, HR systems (e.g., CoreHR or similar) and data analytics tools is required. Experience in a team implementing a new HRIS system would be highly desirable. A strong team player who will partner with the broader HR team on initiatives.
