Job summary

Pyramid Consulting Group, LLC seeks a temporary HR Benefits Specialist (Leave of Absence focus) to support leave, disability and accommodation programs in a hybrid NYC setting. You will be a key resource for employees, managers and HR partners, ensuring compliant, accurate, and employee‑centered management of leave processes.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in LOA/benefits administration, solid ADA/FMLA knowledge, and strong communication and problem‑solving skills. This contract role pays $30/hr.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in leave of absence, disability, accommodations, or employee benefits administration.
• Strong knowledge of ADA, FMLA, disability programs, and applicable leave regulations.
• Experience managing workplace accommodations and the interactive process.
• Experience partnering with third-party leave and disability administrators.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, and empathy when handling sensitive employee matters.
• SHRM certification or related leave administration credentials are a plus

Responsibilities

• Manage leave of absence and workplace accommodation cases from initiation through return to work.
• Facilitate the interactive accommodation process, including documentation review, assessments, and ongoing case management.
• Partner with employees, managers, HR, payroll, and third-party administrators to ensure seamless leave administration.
• Administer and monitor FMLA, disability, and other federal, state, and local leave programs.
• Provide guidance on leave policies, accommodations, and related benefits programs.
• Maintain accurate, compliant, and confidential employee records and documentation.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and insurance providers to resolve claims and case-related issues.
• Support return-to-work planning and employee reintegration efforts.
• Prepare reports, analyze trends, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Assist with policy updates, compliance initiatives, and ongoing program enhancements.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
• Analytical mindset with experience reviewing reports and identifying trends
• Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with HR reporting and data analysis preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred
• SHRM certification or related leave administration credentials are a plus

Pay: $30/hr
