Job summary

Western Cooperative Credit Union is seeking an HR/Benefits Generalist in Williston, ND. This full-time role offers 40 hours/week, with hours 8:00 am–5:00 pm Monday–Friday. Desirable wages with bonus opportunities and comprehensive benefits are included.

Responsibilities include HRIS administration, benefits enrollment, and partner liaison with staff, management, vendors, and applicants. Friday deadlines noted for application. Leadership is not expected in this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; 4 year degree required.
  • Provides confidential HR support and benefits administration.
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll back-up is preferred.

Responsibilities

Western Cooperative Credit Union's Williston Main office has an opening for an HR/Benefits Generalist. This is a full time position getting 40 hours per week. Hours may vary Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Purpose:

Provides administrative support for the human resource department that includes a range of administrative duties to be handled with confidentiality and discretion at all times. Interface with staff, management, vendors and applicants at the credit union. Prepare reports, correspondence, manuals, spreadsheets and all other communications utilizing a broad range of computer applications. Administer all phases of human resources activity by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Recruits, interviews, and selects employees, in coordination with the hiring supervisor, to fill vacant positions.
  • Process new hires during orientation session; explain benefits, policies and procedures of the credit union, and enroll in benefit programs.
  • Utilize Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to keeps records of benefits plans participation such as insurance and pension plan, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations, and employee statistics for government reporting.
  • Process any change of status requirements (name or address change, marital change, promotion, salary increase, etc.); process changes in insurance or benefits programs; maintain up-to-date, accurate personnel files with discretion.
  • Update and maintain Human Resource Information System (HRIS) database.
  • Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Provide backup to Payroll Administrator as necessary.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
