Salary/Hourly Rate:
$22/hr
Position Overview:
The HR Assistant supports daily HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, employee records, compliance, and employee relations.
Responsibilities of the HR Assistant:
- Support full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, resume screening, candidate interviews, and interview coordination.
- Coordinate onboarding and new hire orientation programs to ensure a positive employee experience and smooth integration into the organization.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, HR files, attendance data, and other personnel documentation.
- Administer and support payroll processing, employee benefits, leave administration, and related HR programs.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, benefits, and workplace programs.
- Assist with employee relations matters, including addressing concerns, supporting conflict resolution, and promoting a positive work environment.
- Support performance management, employee training, professional development initiatives, and employee engagement programs.
- Collaborate with management to implement HR policies, ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations, and maintain strict confidentiality of employee information.
- Process and administer bi-weekly payroll through Paycom, ensuring accuracy and compliance prior to final submission.
Required Experience/Skills for the HR Assistant:
- Experience administering payroll through a web-based HRIS and managing employee benefits programs.
- Knowledge of federal and New Jersey employment laws and HR best practices, with a commitment to maintaining compliance and confidentiality.
- Experience supporting full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong project management, multitasking, and Microsoft Office/HR software proficiency.
- Demonstrated ability to process payroll accurately using HRIS and payroll platforms such as Paycom.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field preferred.
