Airbus Americas is seeking an HR AI Solutions and Governance Lead in Herndon, Virginia, to advance HR automation and technology. You will oversee end-to-end architecture of HR agent workflows, implement governance frameworks, and ensure ethical compliance across HR AI initiatives, collaborating with global and regional teams.

You will drive data integrity, privacy, and governance while leveraging modern AI tools to optimize compliance operations within HR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years in a technical role, preferably data science or ML.
• 4+ years in statistical analysis and classical ML.
• 2+ years in model governance, AI ethics, and data privacy.
• ≥2 years on Generative AI (GenAI), agentic workflows and prompt engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design and govern HR AI solutions, including agent workflows and compliance reporting.
• Lead automation initiatives across North America HR functions using AI.
• Develop prompt architectures and tool-calling with HR systems like Workday and ATS.
• Audit AI models for bias and ensure EEOC and EU AI Act compliance.
• Establish data privacy protocols for PII/PHI and governance guardrails across AI solutions.

Airbus Commercial is looking for an HR AI Solutions and Governance Lead to join ourHR Digital team in Herndon, Virginia.

As an AI Solutions and Governance Lead for Airbus in North America, you will lead the advancement of next-generation HR automation and technology. In this senior technical position, you will play a critical role in designing and governing state-of-the-art AI solutions that transform our human resources operations. Key responsibilities include overseeing the end-to-end architecture of HR agent workflows, implementing robust AI model governance frameworks, and upholding ethical standards and compliance across all HR AI initiatives. Working alongside global and regional teams across HR, Digital, Audit, and Legal, you will connect overarching HR strategies with technical execution to drive enterprise innovation. Additionally, you will safeguard data integrity and ethical compliance throughout automated processes, leveraging modern AI tools to optimize compliance operations.

Your Challenges:

• Design and implement complex HR agent workflows for tasks such as policy retrieval (RAG), onboarding triage, and automated compliance reporting.
• Lead automation initiatives across all HR functions in North America, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness through AI.
• Develop advanced prompt architectures and orchestrate tool-calling with key HR systems like Workday and various Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
• Lead initiatives to audit AI models for bias and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including EEOC guidelines and the EU AI Act.
• Establish and enforce stringent data privacy protocols for worker data, safeguarding Personal Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI).
• Define and implement comprehensive model governance guardrails, overseeing the entire lifecycle of AI solutions in HR.
• Design and implement dedicated AI agents aimed at automating complex regulatory reporting and compliance operations.
• Establish robust governance, monitoring, and validation frameworks for automated HR reporting models and agentic decision workflows.
• Secure underlying data foundations for compliance operations, including data tagging, data catalogues, line-of-sight auditing, and data governance.

Your Boarding Pass:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or another quantitative-focused field, or an equivalent combination of industry-related professional experience and education.
• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in a technical role, preferably within data science, machine learning, or a related field.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in statistical analysis and classical machine learning (ML).
• A minimum of 2 years of experience focused on model governance, AI ethics, and data privacy.
• At least 2 years of development experience with Generative AI (GenAI), including the design of agentic workflows and prompt engineering.
• Experience with cloud platforms like Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS including services related to AI and machine learning (e.g., Vertex AI, AutoML, and AI Infrastructure) and data engineering (e.g., S3, Data Factory, BigQuery).

Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:

• Expertise in designing end-to-end AI/ML solutions
