Eccles Express LLC is seeking an HR Manager to own the people side of a fast-moving, high-volume delivery operation in the Kansas City area. You will lead a small HR team, hire, schedule, retain talent, and ensure safety and compliance across two stations in Overland Park.

The role oversees workers' compensation, leave, I-9 and OSHA records, with Paycom for payroll and HRIS. Competitive salary and a performance bonus are offered.

Description

Eccles Express is an Amazon Delivery Service Partner running two delivery stations in the Kansas City area. We have 120+ hourly team members, growing to 300+ during peak season.

As our HR Manager, you'll own the people side of the business: hiring, scheduling, retention, employee safety and claims, and compliance. You'll lead a small team, partner with station managers, and build the systems that keep a fast-moving, high-volume workforce running smoothly.

• Job type: Full-time, salaried
• Pay: $55,000–$65,000 per year, plus a performance bonus tied to scorecard results and reducing attrition
• Schedule: Monday – Friday, 10AM - 6PM
• Reports to: Owner
• Direct reports: Administrative Assistant / Scheduling Coordinator
• Works with: Station General Managers, dispatchers, the fleet team, delivery associates, and vendors

What you'll do

Scheduling and workforce planning

• Oversee weekly schedules and daily staffing plans for both stations
• Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly plan compliance

Hiring, onboarding, and retention

• Improve and standardize interviewing, selection, and onboarding
• Maintain offer letter templates and employment policies
• Build and run an employee retention program
• Track attrition, analyze causes, and report trends to leadership
• Process terminations and offboarding accurately and on time

Team leadership and performance

• Drive results on the Amazon weekly scorecard
• Supervise, coach, and audit the work of the Scheduling Coordinator
• Partner with station managers on attendance, coaching, and performance
• Maintain the employee handbook and HR policies

Tools and processes

• Implement tools and processes that maximize efficiency
• Oversee the apps used for onboarding, coaching, and engagement
• Get the most out of Amazon-provided tools for engagement, forecasting, management, and coaching

Employee safety, injuries, and claims

• Manage workers' compensation claims from injury report through closure, working with adjusters and occupational clinics
• Administer leave of absence, modified duty, and return-to-work processes
• Coordinate auto insurance and third-party damage claims, including driver statements and documentation
• Review and reconcile occupational health billing
• Administer drug and alcohol testing and? fitness-for-duty documentation

Compliance and recordkeeping

• Maintain OSHA recordkeeping (300, 300A, 301) and safety training records
• Process wage garnishments and respond to agency notices on time
• Complete employment and DOT verification requests
• Keep I-9 and onboarding documentation accurate and audit-ready
• Track insurance certificates and driver MVR records
• Support customer compliance audits, corrective action plans, and wage-rate requirements

Payroll and HRIS

• Administer Paycom: onboarding, offboarding, timecards, and employee records
• Over time, take ownership of payroll processing

What you bring

• 3+ years of HR experience in a high-volume hourly workforce (logistics, delivery, warehouse, or similar)
• Hands-on experience with workers' comp, leave, and return-to-work processes
• Working knowledge of OSHA recordkeeping, I-9, and employment law basics
• Experience with an HRIS and payroll system (Paycom a plus)
• Experience supervising or coaching others
• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing many priorities at once
• Strong with spreadsheets and data — you can forecast staffing and spot attrition trends

Nice-to-haves

• Amazon DSP experience
• Familiarity with DOT driver qualification, MVR, and drug and alcohol testing programs
• PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification
