Eurofins USA BioPharma Services in San Diego, CA is seeking an HPLC Scientist to support analytical testing of biologics, cell and gene therapies, vaccines, and other pharmaceutical products in a GMP-regulated laboratory. You will operate and troubleshoot HPLC systems, evaluate analytical data, and contribute to high-quality scientific outcomes that support client programs and patient safety.

This is an early-career role offering hands-on instrumentation work, problem solving, and opportunities

Formación

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a chemical/biological science.
• Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting HPLC instrumentation.
• Experience reviewing and interpreting analytical data.
• Strong documentation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Perform analytical testing using HPLC and related techniques.
• Prepare samples, standards, reagents, and controls per SOPs.
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot instrumentation.
• Analyze chromatographic data to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Use Empower or similar chromatography data systems.
• Maintain GMP-compliant laboratory records and documentation.
• Assist investigations involving instrument performance and deviations.
• Support method qualification, validation, transfer, and optimization.
• Collaborate with QA and project teams to meet timelines.
• Communicate findings and progress clearly.
• Adhere to GMP, GDP, GLP, ALCOA+ and company quality requirements.

Eurofins is seeking an HPLC Scientist to join our growing Analytical Testing team in San Diego, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career scientist who enjoys hands‑on laboratory work, troubleshooting complex instrumentation, and transforming analytical data into meaningful scientific results.

In this role, you will support testing for biologics, cell and gene therapies, vaccines, and other pharmaceutical products within a GMP-regulated laboratory environment. You will operate and troubleshoot HPLC systems and other analytical instrumentation, evaluate analytical data, investigate technical issues, and contribute to high-quality scientific outcomes that directly support client programs and patient safety.

What You’ll Do

• Perform analytical testing using HPLC, Karl Fischer (KF), osmolality, and related laboratory techniques
• Prepare samples, standards, reagents, and control materials according to approved methods and SOPs
• Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation
• Analyze and interpret chromatographic and analytical data to ensure accuracy and quality
• Utilize laboratory software and chromatography data systems, including Empower or similar platforms
• Maintain complete and GMP‑compliant laboratory documentation and records
• Assist with investigations involving instrument performance, deviations, atypical results, and out‑of‑specification findings
• Support analytical method qualification, validation, transfer, and continuous improvement activities
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Project Management, laboratory leadership, and scientific teams to meet project timelines
• Communicate analytical findings, observations, and testing progress effectively
• Follow GMP, GDP, GLP, ALCOA+, and company quality requirements at all times

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or a related scientific discipline
• Hands‑on experience operating and troubleshooting HPLC instrumentation
• Experience working with analytical laboratory equipment and scientific testing methods
• Ability to review, interpret, and evaluate analytical data
• Strong documentation, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-2 years of analytical laboratory experience
• Experience working in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences environment
• Experience with Empower or other chromatography data systems
• Familiarity with method validation, verification, or transfer activities
• Strong troubleshooting and investigative skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team environment
• Experience interacting with clients, management, or cross‑functional stakeholders

Additional Information

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
Location: San Diego, CA
Compensation: $27.50-$31.50 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
