Job summary

Proexec Consulting Inc. is recruiting an experienced Tooling & Die Design Engineer for a confidential manufacturing client specializing in advanced aluminum and magnesium casting technologies.

This position will support operations in Detroit, MI and Bellevue, OH, making the Toledo area an ideal central location. Responsibilities include designing and optimizing HPDC dies, gating and thermal management, performing 3D simulations, conducting DFM reviews, troubleshooting defects, and supporting

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HPDC tooling and die design experience.
• Experience with MAGMA5, FLOW-3D, ProCAST or similar casting simulation software.
• Strong 3D CAD experience with NX, CATIA, Creo, or similar.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize high-pressure die casting (HPDC) dies and tooling.
• Develop gating, runners, venting, overflows, and thermal management systems.
• Perform 3D flow, thermal, and solidification simulations.
• Conduct DFM reviews and recommend tooling and casting design improvements.
• Troubleshoot casting defects and tooling performance issues.
• Support prototype builds, NPI, and production launches.
• Work directly with automotive OEM customers and internal engineering teams.
