Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC is seeking an HPC Systems Engineer to own day-to-day operation, maintenance, and optimization of production and development HPC clusters supporting CAE/CFD/FEA suites.

You will manage a Red Hat-based HPC environment, Slurm workload manager, GPGUs, and license servers, while interfacing with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and performance. On-site role with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Linux system administration in a server/datacenter environment (RHEL family).
• Slurm or comparable HPC workload manager (PBS, LSF, Grid Engine).
• Cluster management tooling — Bright Cluster Manager / NVIDIA Base Command Manager.
• NVIDIA GPU and driver administration.
• Bash and python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain RHEL-based HPC environment; patching, imaging, drivers, and node health monitoring.
• Administer the Slurm scheduler: partitions, QoS, accounting, reservations, licensing.
• Administer NFS storage volumes, quotas, and permissions.
• Manage license servers (FlexLM, RLM, DSLS) and license enforcement.
• Install and maintain commercial simulation software and environment modules.
