Job summary

AT&T Global Public Sector is seeking a High-Performance Computing (HPC) Systems Administrator to sustain and operate Linux-based HPC clusters at a government site in Columbia, Maryland. The role requires TS/SCI with polygraph clearance and DoD 8570 IAT II certification, with no relocation and a 5-day-per-week on-site presence.

Qualifications

• B.S. in a technical discipline and 10 years’ experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity or 15 years’ experience in lieu of a degree.
• DoD 8570 IAT II level certification required.
• Requires TS/SCI with polygraph clearance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain HPC clusters, monitoring, incident response, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance.
• Install and configure Linux OS, file systems, and TCP/IP networking; troubleshoot OS and application issues.
• Automate/administer via Bash scripting; compile/install software as required.
• Use Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, and Nagios for observability and incident tracking.
• Support HPC workload and configuration management tools (Slurm, git, Salt, Ansible).
• Provide user support and escalation/status communication to agency management and internal customers.
• Harden, patch, and tune Linux/UNIX/Windows systems to improve reliability and performance.
