Erias Ventures, LLC seeks a System Administrator to support a large-scale Linux environment, ensuring security, reliability, and high performance for compute, network, memory, and storage systems.

The role requires a Top-Secret/SCI clearance with FS polygraph, 15 years of systems experience, and expertise in Linux, scripting, and containerization. The position is based in Annapolis Junction, MD, with competitive salary and broad benefits.

Qualifications

• Fifteen (15) years of Systems Administrator experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline required.
• Five (5) years of additional Systems Administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
• Experience with Linux CLI, scripting in Bash/Python, and large-scale Linux clusters.
• Experience installing, configuring, and supporting COTS/GOTS/FOSS software in Linux environments.
• Familiarity with Red Hat Satellite, Splunk, VMware ESXi, IaC with SaltStack and Ansible.
• Knowledge of security compliance policies and system monitoring tools (Nagios, HPE OneView).
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide support for a large-scale Linux system, including installation, operations, monitoring and problem resolution for compute, network, memory, and storage components.
• Maintain system security integrity and configure network components; implement OS enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
• Support sustainment and operation of large Linux clusters, including day-to-day monitoring and issue resolution.
• Work with virtualization, infrastructure as code, and automation tools to streamline operations and compliance.

Description

We are seeking a System Administrator who shall be responsible for providing support for a large-scale Linux system including installation of COTS/GOTS/FOSS software, day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all the compute, network, memory, and storage system components. In addition, the System Administrator shall maintain the system security integrity and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Clearance

A current Top-Secret/SCI with FS polygraph security clearance (within 7 years) is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.

Experience

Fifteen (15) years' experience as a Systems Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional Systems Administration experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

• Familiarity using Splunk for ingesting, indexing, searching, monitoring, and analyzing big data
• Experience with the sustainment and support of large Linux clusters including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution
• Experience configuring and sustaining VMware ESXi/Virtualization environments
• Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) principles and automation tools such as SaltStack and Ansible
• Experience with corporate STE/STN security compliance policies and procedures
• Experience using system monitoring tools such as HPE One View and Nagios
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker

Desired skills

• Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes
• Experience with distributed files systems such as Weka, CEPH, GPFS, and HDFS
• Experience with the Atlassian Suite of Tools such as Jira and Confluence
